Gutted for Hunt. Just listened to an interview with him and he has a miniscus tear and the doctor told him, after looking at the MRI, that he doesn't have a PCL (translation anyone?!?!). First time he has ever had to pull out of a fight and said that he was going to fight anyway but his coaches made him see sense. He is in for an operation in the next couple of days and should be back training in 6-8 weeks.

Real stink for him because the HW picture is really going to sort itself out in the next couple of weeks with the Strikeforce HWGP wrapping up and UFC146. Hope it doesn't push him too far down the ladder.

Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson weights in 10lbs overweight for his Titan Championships 22 fight against Dave Branch, the fight is now a 195lb catchweight bout.
This is the 4th time in his career that he's came in overweight.

So he gets cut from the UFC for not making weight...so he responds by weighing in 10 pounds over!!! Not even close, what an idiot!

Mayhem officially announces retirement.

Anderson Silva reveals he injured his knee during practice, striking. He will undergo tests today to see how serious the injury is, but he is feeling optimistic.

Well his actual quote was more along the lines of "Im officially retiring...until I run out of money" so we'll probably see him again to be honest. Not fussed either way though, he's looked awful lately.

I hear Sonnen got rejected by Palhares after he asked him to train with him. Magalhaes musnt be enough.

Sonnen doing his BJJ with Magalhaes? And he rolls with the Diaz boys... His Sub defence looked really good against Anderson (even though he got subbed!) you could see he had the understanding of how to roll out of a hold... with a bit of polishing I think he could rule the devision for a while.

Cant wait for the rematch, hope Andersons injury doesnt delay it.

Vinny Magalhaes: Chael Sonnen Could Submit Anderson Silva

It's been an outlandish week for Vinny Magalhaes, the former M-1 Global Light Heavyweight Champion. First, he auctioned off his M-1 Championship on Ebay.com (only for $2,600 might I add), and then in an interview with Ariel Helwani, Magalhaes stated that Chael Sonnen could submit Anderson Silva. Although Sonnen is his training partner, it's a bit out there to make a claim that a fighter with a losing by submission to winning by submission ratio of 2:1 could submit the UFC Middleweight Champion who has not lost a fight in that manner in over eight years.

Wow, Magalesh is a great training partner. Anderson has that Triangle but we dont see enough of his Groundgame to call him a truely elite submission fighter.

Sonnen just needs to tighten his Sub defence (which im sure he has) and he is the nightmare matchup for Anderson.

A lot of people put the 1st fight down to Anderson being hurt... well he isnt going into this one 100% either id say. And Sonnen is allowed TRT... Im backing Sonnen all day in the rematch with a repeat of the last fight for 5 rounds insted of 4.

Speaking of Palhares.. hes claiming he was sick when he fought Belcher.

Anybody watch the UCMMA show on last night on SKY It's horrible production and presentation totally kills the enjoyment of the fights.

Oh and this weekends Care Warriors show is on SKY this Wednesday night If anyone misses the stream.

I turned it on for 10 seconds after seeing Sky list it as "Cage Rage UK" in the hope that it might be some of the old Cage Rage footage featuring Anderson Silva or someone, then I realised it was UCMMA and turned it off as soon as Dave O'Donnell began to open his mouth.

I wish I did the same thing although in my defense I SKY+ the event and probably watched the 2 hour broadcast in 10 minutes. I really can't stand O'Donnell he must have some real dirt on somebody on SKY to get another deal with SKY.

Kenny Florian has officially retired from MMA.

Wow. Wasn't expecting that, but I am glad. He was never going to win a title and his future is in coaching and commentating.
