Re: General MMA News
Thiago Silva is injured and out of the Shogun fight at UFC 149, UFC wants to have Glover Teixiera replace him but apparently Shogun doesn't want the fight. Looks like I was right when I said UFC will fast track Glover!

Re: General MMA News
I'd like them to make the Shogun - Evans fight, there both coming of losses,it's a fight that we were robbed of in the past and they are both similarly ranked.
I thought the Shogun - Silva was a wierd match up,it's a no win situation for Shogun and I'd say Glover is behind Silva in the UFC pecking order at the moment.
Glover definitely shouldn't be pushed into that high a ranked fight for his second fight, don't get me wrong I've been saying and I'm expecting good things from him in the future, but shit give the guy a chance to find his feet in the division first.

Re: General MMA News
I don't like what Zuffa have said about Shogun I'm convinced they are lying maybe it's my biased views of Shogun clouding my judgement but It seems like they are attempting to hang Shogun out to dry and force him in to the fight. Shame about Alves pulling out of the Siyar fight I'd like them to throw Sadollah to Siyar as way of compensation.
Oh and a possible belated best of luck to P4P.

Damn, what is it with all these high profile injuries these days. I can't look forward to a good card anymore because 90% of them are always changed with injuries

Re: General MMA News
just a wild theory, but maybe the seemingly extra amount of recent injuries could have something to do with the UFC clamping down on steroid abuse.
Maybe Fighters now can't train through some of the niggling pain and injuries, that they might of been able to in the past while on gear and career wise are safer just pulling out.

could be...although i really think its more to do with the decision they made a year (or so) back to cover all fighters medical bills.

Its very hard to say..both good suggestions. Also the fact that there is simply more events now than ever before may make there seem like there is more injuries.

The UFC have decided to release 10 fighters this week and there are no major surprises amongst the list.
Steve Cantwell, Aaron Rosa, Efrain Escudero, Kamal Shalorous, Eric Wisely, Jorge Lopez, Jeff Curran , Alex Soto, Mike Massenzio and Dongi Yang

Re: General MMA News
from MMAfighting.
Disappointing if it's true from Shogun's camp...
Silva out against Shogun. A lingering back injury forced Thiago Silva to withdraw from his UFC 149 co-main event bout opposite Shogun Rua. According to UFC President Dana White, Rua's camp turned down a replacement fight against Glover Teixeira, though Shogun's manager, Julio Heller, denies those claims.

Bibiano Fernandes has become the first Dream fighter to find a new home and has joined the UFC and will make his debut in his adopted home Canada at UFC 149.
Big signing I think Bibi can be a force at 135.

Re: General MMA News
Just posted mate, Cracking news. I love my asian MMA, I think if OneFC dont do a great NYE show it will be a big loss for MMA as a fan. But I always said I want to see the best fight the best and in the lower weights a really wanted to see them go after contenders,
I recokon your right he will be a force, Id back him to beat Faber. If UFC are trying to fast track Gover (Which I dont mind at all) to a fight with Shogun Id like to see him get a number 1 contenders fight after this.
Fingers crossed Crusher is next though im not 100% he will Leave Japan.
Reckon that Aoki will stay put though, you?
You see Fedor finishing his career as an M-1 fighter now?

Re: General MMA News
Hasn't Kawajiri signed with ONE FC recently ?.
I don't see Aoki in the UFC TBH I think he will be with ONE FC permanently. Really delighted with Bibi going to the UFC as I said I can see him as force at 135 solid chin the best ground in the division and a pretty decent striker.
It would be nice to see the likes of Miyata, Takaya & Kikuno follows over too from Dream.
