Melvin Manhoef says he wants to fight in the UFC and would love his first fight to be against Wandi.

    http://www.bjpenn.com/melvin-manhoef-wants-fight-with-wanderlei-silva-in-ufc/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bjpenndotcom+%28BJPENN.COM+MMA+NEWS+BLOGS%29

I'd worry about Wandi in this fight, the Wandi of a few years ago would of made for a fantastic match up with Manhoef, but todays Wandi I'm not so sure.

I was watching Cung Le's film dragon Eyes last night,I think that Cung Le vs Manhoef would be a great match up.

As for Dragon Eyes, not great but better than normal for MMA fighter cast movies.

I did enjoy playing spot the fighter in it though.

You have the main cast of Cung Le,Jean Claude Van Damme and Peter Weller, but I also spotted Gil Melendez,Dan Henderson,Trevor Prangley,Josh Thompson and Rich Clementi.

Abit of a Strikeforce production Very Happy

Ive been tempted to give it a watch...

Manhoef would KO most MMA fighters, wouldnt write him off against anyone, JDS, Bones, Anderson whoever. Melvins attack at least is just about the best in MMA.

His problem is his defence. Wand showed against Cung that he can still land that strike that changes the fight, or against someone hard to hit like Bisping he can still lay a glove on and put down.

Melvin's defence isnt great, Lawlor landed that one shot.

When I see a Manhoef highlight I think he would murder Wand but really I wouldnt totally count on him winning. Wand should take it to the ground though, anyone who stands with Manhoef is fucking crazy.

Mw would have a few great fights for him, Wand, Stann, Cung etc..

Guy needs a groundgame of sorts. Hopefully he can get one because if he showed UFC he was working on it I could see them signing him. Isnt many more entertaining fighters anyway!

Latest round of UFC cuts seem a bit contentious.

    Wagner Prado
    Mike Russow
    Jacob Volkmann
    Vladimir Matyushenko
    Che Mills
    Jay Hieron
    Terry Etim
    Paul Sass
    Jorge Santiago
    Mike Stumpf
    Simeon Thoresen
    CJ Keith
    Matonabu Tezuka
    Josh Grispi
    Ulysses Gomez.

Whilst I can understand some, some of these look really harsh. Volkmann, Matyushenko, Mills, Sass, Santiago (brought back to UFC after two successive wins, then dropped after one decision loss), Russow (losses to Werdum and Jordan). What you guys think?

I'm baffled Fitch has gone really amazed by It. Sort of surprised they have released the English lads Etim and Mills are normally in good exciting fights as for Sass I'm not that surprised he lhas looked ridiculously one dimensional, I suppose this is good news for BAMMA and Cage Warriors (on a side note i'm pretty pissed SKY has dropped CW.).

As for the rest It's not surprising they have been released.

The most open secret out there has become a reality BT has brought ESPN UK.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21577676

Now It's still not 100% confirmed If they will retain with BT/ESPN as apparently Dana wants to hook up with SKY Sports.

I dont care where it ends up, ESPN is stinging us £16 a month or something isnt it? Sky sports might be more, especially if its not just on SKYsports1 or something just. BT thouugh? Maby they will just keep what ESPN have but it will be a rebranding thing. I would just worry about it going to PPV, that would stop me paying to see UFC, Streams here I come if that ever happens!
