More bad news in the world of boxing today. Paul Williams was in a serious motorcycle accident. According to this report, there is talk of potential paralysis from the waist down. My thoughts and prayers go out to Williams and his family.

Tyson Fury will be fighting on July 7th in Blackpool, more or less going head to head with Sky's coverage of the Kell Brook VS Carson Jones card, and Wladimir Klitschko VS Tony Thompson.

Indeed Hennessy will probably find someone on the Pier the day before the fight or something.

Re: Boxing discussion
It wouldn't surprise me Cowboy haha. I thought Jean Marc Mormeck would have been a good fight for Fury, because even though he's shit, he just fought Wladimir Klitschko so Fat Mick could run his mouth about how Fury is facing a world title challenger, then seeing how Fury is about a foot bigger than Mormeck he should be able to take him out relatively early, and if he gets it done quicker than Wlad then that gives Mick to run his mouth even more about how Fury beat someone quicker than Wlad. No doubt he will probably face someone like Kevin McBride though.

Re: Boxing discussion
Those names seem a bit of a risk for Hennessy I think the idea of some random bloke from the pier is more appealing.
Talking of Jean Marc I did hear the proposed Mormeck Lebedev fight has hit a stumbling block and possibly called off.

I am sorry to read that due to a continual hand problem Tony Jeffries will probably have to retire from boxing at the age of only 27

Shame about Jeffries It doesn't look good he's resorting to platelet rich plasma injection's I read and instead of through the bloodline It will be through marrow bone which has never been done before apparently.

Yep haha, despite me not actually writing for anybody professionally I just give them the whole "I'm studying Sports Journalism at University" speech and they let me in. Looks like I'll be part of the press for UFC in Nottingham too

Try and get in touch with some regional papers, let them know you're going and offer to send them some copy on the event. Even if you don't get paid, you'll get exposures and experience.

Re: Boxing discussion
A shame about Stevenson an amateur Legend is an understatement 3 time Gold medalist would have been interesting to see mix up as pro in his era but obviously wasn't going to happen.
Seems although Ortiz is fighting Lopez in a few weeks It's been as good as announced he is fighting Canelo in September this is gonna be a good one (please injuries gods let it slide for this fight)

Re: Boxing discussion
Boxing is getting bad news almost daily, very sad.
Looks like Froch is getting the Kessler rematch. As i've said before i think Froch might just pinch this one. I really hope Kessler can beat him again I'm fed up of listening to the big nosed cunt talking nonsense.
"if anyone saw the first one it was a great fight, very close and he got a hometown decision" yes your right Froch it was a great fight, but who told you it was a hometown decision? your dad?
"If it was in Nottingham i would have got the decision" Yes if Eddie hearn was scoring the fight as he is as deluded as you, or you could have got those 3 back who gave you that gift against Dirrell.
It's a shame he talks so much bollox, he could have a real following in Britain but he's so hard to support.

Re: Boxing discussion
Yeah he does need to cool the arrogance a bit, especially when he beat Pascal and then started calling out a retired Calzaghe.

Re: Boxing discussion
His memory is either very short or he thinks everyone else in the universe has alzheimers. He takes the piss out of Calzaghe for beating Hopkins then tries blowing smoke up his own ass when he beats Glen Johnson. If he beats Kessler you can guarantee he will tell everyone kessler was in the form of his life.
has anyone else heard the interview he did for the BBC?
I try supporting all british fighters but Froch and Dan Hardy i make an exception for
