He was/is actually a decent highschool wrestler and submission grappler. His name's Kyle Maynard, it's pretty amazing watching him wrestle. Whether that fight should have happened or not, I do have massive respect for the guy.

I'm not denying he has guts, and deserves respect. But in an MMA fight against an able-bodied opponent, in what way can he possibly hope to win the fight?

Well like I said, if he can turn it into a grappling match, he can win. He's side choked and armbarred people in sub grappling, competed in NAGA. He can single leg people. I'm still on the fence about whether he should be allowed to fight or not. His opponent basically jabbed him in the face for three rounds, which says a bit. But if he fights again as an amateur, I wouldn't be shocked if he did get a win.
