I think this proves that Brock cannot take a punch, same as the Carwin fight Brock got punched in the face and cowered away.

How good did Cain look, surely he is going to dominate the heavyweight division for years to come!!

I am in shock just watched it.... also im going to apologise for my rants the last couple of day ha ha ha! I got proved wrong! Cain was just calm did look abit nervous and thats where Carwin went completly wrong. Cain has proved himself as one of the best, he's got it all. I assume his first defence will be against JDS, which he will win. The difference between Brock and Cain is Cains beaten alot of the best guys on his way up to the title, and the HW division isn't really the best so i can see him being there for a while. Now i guess the question begs... does Fedor beat Cain?

PS; Though lesnar was good in defeat, perhaps a little overwhelmed?

Brock was clearly winning the fight, he took Cain down twice, was controling him against the cage, Brock was dominating him. Cain got lucky as Brock was off balance and looked as if he got tripped by Herb Dean, Cain then swarmed Brock landed a few punches to score a premature stoppage.

Brock made his intentions pretty clear after about 3 seconds, charging at Cain and looking for the take-down. He knew he wanted no piece of Cain standing up. He wanted the fight to be over ASAP. It was pretty much game over when he realised he couldn't keep Cain down (which was the only area he would be able, or so he thought, to get the job done).

Cain looked awesome, he really does have it all.. he's quick, his technique is getting better and better, hes not too big but hes not too small, perfect size for a heavyweight IMO at around 245 and he is damn near impossible to out-wrestle. The fight with JDS will be much more of a war than this one. I can see a real stand-up battle, and if it does go to the ground, then who knows what could happen.


PS, who next now for Brock? A rematch with Carwin? or maybe Nelson or even an up and comer like Schaub? Maybe not. Lesnar Mir III?

Horrendous effort. Unfortunately for you, Brock was getting beaten in the grappling, destroy in the stand up and being made to look like a 270lb punching bag.

Even with the win, Cain is only the worlds number 3 HW but he's a legit number 3, there actually are only two guys deserving of higher rankings and only 1 guy better than him.

I would just like to congratulate myself and Pete for talking about Cain as the future UFC HW champ for the past two years.

Awesome performance by Cain, i picked Cain to win in the predictions, but as Brock was walking to the cage i was starting to think Brock would win....then i remembered that he looks better walking to the cage then he does in it

I think in terms of rankings he probably hasn't earned the number one spot, but similar to the lightweight division, there are a few guys who are elite and head and shoulders above the rest.

HW i mean Cain, Fedor, Overeem, Werdum, then JDS.

LW i mean Melendez, Aoki, Alvarez, Edgar and BJ.

I just watched it back and I honestly think that will go down as one of the defining moments in MMA history.

Chesty, I mean

1) in terms of people no longer believing the UFC hype machine. They tried to push Lesnar as the best HW in the world. FAILED. Turned out to be an average fighter who's size is his only weapon. They tried to push Lesnar-Carwin as the biggest HW match up ever. FAILED. Turned out to be two averages fighters, one with no guts, the other with no cardio. Maybe people will now start watching fights and forming their own opinions.

2) We could see the floodgates open to all the Mexican talent that boxing has had a monopoly on for the past 25 years! Mexico is a true combat sports . Time for MMA to start seeing some of that talent.

3) It could be seen as the moment when the process of the passing the title of the worlds best HW based from Fedor to Cain began. Let's be real here, people who knew how great Fedor was never even considered Lesnar as a threat. And despite the loss to Werdum, most still saw Fedor as the number 1 guy. Cain moves right in behind him now and with a couple more big wins, could take that crown.
