Apologies to Chesty I had to delete the 1st post, sorry about that mate.

Heres the rules of the Hall of Fame. Were going to get 5 picks each. Each guy in the Hall of Fame will need a minimum of 10 out of the 15 of us to vote for them to get in.

Ok no-one in he current Hall of Fame is safe. Were going to vote from scratch because that seems the fair thing to do.

Everyone post their 5 Hall of Fame picks below and we will start voting from scratch

Im going to unsticky the old one and find a better looking way to post the new Hall of Fame.

1)Ikuhisa Minowa - (47-31-8)Possibly the most Game fighter ever. Regularly takes on fighters who outweigh him by hundreds of pounds, and wins more often than not. Has also won some tough fights in and around his own weight class. Notable victories include (bearing in mind this man weighs 170-180lb and is 5'9"): Yvel, Kimo,Baroni, Giant Silva, Butterbean, Frye,Sapp, Hong Man Choi, Sokodjou.
2)Fedor Emelianenko- (31-2-0) Best heavyweight ever, good argument for best MMA fighter ever. Only one legit loss on his record. Notable wins include: Arona, Sobral,Schilt, Herring, Big Nogx2, Colemanx2, Randleman, Ogawa,cro-cop, Sylvia, Arlovski, Rogers.
3)Wanderlei SIlva- (33-10-1)- Best LHW ever in many people's eyes, although some have an argument for Liddel. Notable wins include: Mezger, Henderson, Sakuraba x3, Tamura, Yoshida, rampage, Minowa,Arona, Jardine, Bisping.
4)Frank Shamrock(23-10-2)- Pioneer of the sport in terms of cross training , punched above his weight during His succesful UFC run. Notable wins include: Rutten, Funaki, Inoue, Jackson, Horn, Baroni, Ortiz.
5)Royce Gracie (14-3-3)- Among the founders of the sport, Instrumental in the prominence of BBJ as an art. Notable wins include: Shamrock, Kimo, Severn, Sakuraba

No need mate, sure we will see who votes... Anyway before anyone puts their picks make sure to vote on everyone elses...

    OK so Ive got

    1. Severn, 95 MMA wins, 2X UFC tournament winner... that all I gotta say for him!

    2. Masakatsu Funaki, Beat both Shamrock Brothers, Bas Rutten, Mezger, Schilt, Minowa and was King of Pancrase

    3. Bas Rutten, 21 fight unbeaten streak, King of Pancrase, UFC Hw champ, beat Randleman, Funaki, Mezger and Frank Shammy 2/3

    4. Big Nog, only Pride and UFC Hw champ, Beat Hendo, Barnett, Couture, Crocop, Werdum, Sergei etc..

    5. Shogun, Won biggest MMA GP tournament EVER, UFC champ, Beat Liddell, Machida, Rampage, Coleman, Arona, Overem x2, Lil Nog, Randleman... he stopped them all in 1 round bar Coleman in the 3rd and Nog the only one to make to the distance out of those.. I know he is young and still active but If Crocops tournament win earns him a place I think Shoguns was better.

    Minowa Evil or Very Mad
    Fedor Evil or Very Mad
    Wanderlei Twisted Evil
    Frank Shamrock Twisted Evil
    Royce Gracie Twisted Evil

    Severn Twisted Evil
    Funaki Evil or Very Mad
    Bas Twisted Evil
Big Nog Evil or Very Mad
    Shogun Evil or Very Mad

Reason being for most of the Evil or Very Mad here, is because i feel they still currently have alot more to give in their MMA career, and are still relevant in the division.

If they were to retire today most of them would still be in the Hall of Fame, if they were to take 5 back to back losses and retire I think they would be in the Hall of Fame.

I dont think we are picking retired or nearly retired fighers. A Hall of Fame without Fedor doesnt seem right...

90% of these fighers will still be active as MMA as such a new sport. I think see why they being likely to do more in the sport should stop them getting in...

Nog nog beat Randy head to head
Nog beat Barnett who beat Randy
Nog beat Ricco who beat Randy
Nog helf Pride and UFC titles, Couture only UFC
Nog has 13 more wins that Couture
Nog has 4 less Losses than Couture

Come on now, its not like Nog is likely to win Gold again and has only been fighting a little less time than Couture, How could he not he Hall of Fame worthy?

I think we need to all agree on the way were rating them because Nog is clearly a level above Couture.

Its not really about the level he's at, Randy is 47 yrs old, he looks like his done with MMA and pursuiting doing movies now. Nog is still top 10, and still relevant in the HW division i reckon.

I guess Nog could probably go in, as he hasnt been looking that good recently and looks past his prime. But someone like Shogun who is the no.1 and champ currently and not even 30 yrs old cant go in right now.

First of all, Im gonna consider my votes based on the fighter's entire career. This doesnt mean that losses exclude you but I think if you wanna consider a fighter at their peak you have to consider them in their slumps, too.

    1. Severn,- YES. Pioneer of the sport who has competed in a huge number of fights with a good record.
    2. Masakatsu Funaki- YES. Again a pioneer and good wins.
    3. Bas Rutten- YES.Class throughout his career
    4. Big Nog- YES. Competed at a very high level for a number of years. On the slide, but still able to pick up some big name wins.
    5. Shogun- YES. has got to the pinnacle in the two biggest organisations in MMA history.

    1. Randy Couture- YES. I was really was in two minds about him but he is a multi weight world champion with multiple reigns. On teh downside his overall record isnt so great and he has been given an inordinate amount of title fights.
    2. Matt Hughes- YES. One of the most dominant champions ever at one stage and despite being on the slide, still able to get wins against a decent level of fighter.
    3. Chuck Lidell- NO. shock decision this one, but I think a lot of Liddel's mystique is hype, and i think if not protective he was matched to his strengths at his peak. Recent results tarnish his legacy also.
    4. Crocop -NO. While I enjoy watching his prime, it was a short prime and I feel his record is somewhat padded.
    5. Sakuraba- YES. Exciting fighter with excellent wins over a long career.

Randy is still top 10 at Lhw and is probabally about as close to a title shot...

Wanderlei is still top 10 and around Nogs age.

    Frank Shamrock 3 yes
    Royce Gracie 3 yes

    Severn 3 yes
    Funaki 2 yes 1 no

    Randy 3 yes
    Hughes 3 yes
    Lidell 2 yes 1 no
    Crocop 2 yes 1 no
    Sakuraba 3 yes

cool mate that makes sence, I didnt put GSP in last tine for the same reasons understandable...

Albion I though a few would say no to Crocop but Shocked at Liddell, If you look at every MMa fighters records I think Liddell would be in the top 3 for who he has beat.

    Wanderlei
    Tito X2
    Couture X2
    Babalu X2
    Belfort
    Horn
    Overeem
    Bustamante
    Mezger
    Randleman
    Monson
    Pele

Just to say, God Damn thats one hell of a win list. 15 Solid wins over top class opposition. 4 Title defences and remember he may have had more or the title earlier if Tito hadnt have ducked him.

Chuck is the most recognisable man in MMA as well. If you talking what they did for the sport, Liddell got more people I know watching UFC than Tito or anyone... That and Sprawl and Brawl could be credited to him.

Id be shocked to see him in as well mate but anyone with near 100 career fights diserves mentioned. Ill be shocked if Fulton and Horn arent mentioned.

This time as we are going contribution to the sport I think Minowa has given so much to Japanese MMA. I doubt they would have had the Superhulk without him. The japanese love the Idea of their fighting spirit over coming bigger more physical westerners and Minowa personifies that. And I think he has the most leg lock subs in MMA history! cheers

Minowa- I like him as a fighter, but absolutely not. He isn't a HOF caliber fighter, has he even been top 5 in any weight class? Has he even been top 10? Freak show does not count. So no. Way below the standard of any other fighter nominated.

Fedor- I can't think of a genuine reason as to why he shouldn't be. He fills out all the critera, and I don't think "He still has a lot to offer" is a valid reason as to why he shouldn't be in when you consider all he has achieved in the sport, how long he's been in, and the fact he is near the end of his career. Easily a yes.

    Wanderlei- Yes

    Frank Shamrock- Yes

    Royce Gracie- Yes

    Severn- Yes

    Funaki- Yes

    Bas- Yes

Big Nog- Similar to Fedor really, except he is done at the top and only has a few more fights before retirement. Yes for me.

Shogun- I'm going to have to say not just right now. I don't think we should put fighters who are still very much in there prime in the HOF right now, that's why I'm not planning to nominate GSP just yet. I have very little doubt that Shogun and GSP will be in the HOF, but at the end of the day, they still have time to screw up there careers. A couple of years ago, the likes of Ricco and Ortiz were certainties for the HOF. Not anymore. I do like Shogun a lot, and ofc GSP is my favorite fighter but I can't be bias with these things. No for me.

    Randy- Yes

    Hughes- Yes

    Lidell- Yes

    Crocop- Yes

    Sakuraba- Yes

Can we finish with this lot of fighters before we nominate anymore please, otherwise it could become a bit of a cluster fest.

If my vote is valid I would say yes to the following:

    Royce Gracie
    Funaki
    Bas
    Frank Shamrock
    Dan Severn
    Sakuraba

I would probably add Ken Shamrock to that list.

All the others are active and still adding to their legacy. There shouldn't be any rush to induct members. I reckon the following fighters should automatically be added when they retire.

    Fedor of course
    Wanderlei
    Randy Couture
    Matt Hughes
    Big Nog

I reckon with a large number of judges, if we all stick to our own criteria, the right people will end up in the HOF.
