- Fedor shook him, with that first left, writting on the wall from then on. Was massively dissappointed in Guram, looked terrible after that first roll about, didn't offer anything really and as has been said, gassed abysmally.

Re: General MMA News
- Spoiler:
Komkin had obviously never seen footage of Monson before,Monson is the king of the North/south position and that is the one place nobody should let him get too.
Khamanaev's heel hook on Weichel was nasty, sweet sub.
Gugenishvill was absolute dog shit,I know the long lay off couldn't of helped, but that was very disappointing. He gassed after a couple of minutes,he looked shocked and hurt after nearly every punch Garner landed through out the fight and even the few times he had Garners back with both hooks in,he looked nowhere close to being able to sink in the choke.
Great way for Fedor to go out(if he is going to call it a day that is),he finished rizzo in impressive style and also in a way that will give his most ardent followers the belief that he still could challenge JDS and Co if he wanted.
So everyone's a winner, yet we are still all in the same boat we have been in for years,in that we will just never find out.
obviously it's hard to say that with 100% confidence, because Rizzo is far from that standard now,but still,I'm happy fedor has given us all another taste of just how viscous and a powerful finisher he can be and just why he was the GOAT for so long.

- Spoiler:
Fuck I didnt think he would retire if he looked great, he did look great. As a retirement fight Rizzo wasnt even a UFC champ, He might as well have gone after Mo Smith and chalked up one last UFC Hw champ! I wonder if he will have any regrets about not seeing that last Strikeforce fight out. Barnett vs Fedor would have been a far far better retirement fight and its a winable one for him I reckon.
He will always split opinion because he did avoid the UFC and he didnt see out his SF contract against Ranked fighters in Cormier and Barnett so im disaspointed about how he handled his career and Im less of a fan of his because of it but as a figher his status of the greatest Hw ever is going to be near untouchable.

I thought he might have one more, possibly NYE in Japan.
That must have been one of the longest and dullest ring entrances I have ever seen, surpised Rizzo was still awake after that Ring entrance music and both national anthems.

What a truly humble and respectful man Fedor is, and I hope he enjoys his retirement with his family and doesn't get dragged back into fighting, he surely wont need the money!

Re: General MMA News
I would have loved to have seen him in UFC, I would have loved to see him go out with one last big fight, however, for me, he will always be the GOAT, I will never forget the image of Randlemann suplexing him on his head, and then less than 40seconds later, tapping to the Kimura, the epic fights against Nog, the way that he always seemed to go out of his way to fight his opponents fight, as if to say 'I know what you are supposed to be great at, let me show you that I am better at it', a little bit sad that we won't see any of that again.

Chris Leban has just been awarded his BJJ blue belt by Sidney Silva.
Crazy to think that Leban was only a white belt when he slapped that triangle on Akiyama.

Akiyama was half dead with fatigue at that point. He didn't have the energy to even notice what was happening.

- I cannot stand either figher TBH, but what a terrible decision last night on Guida/Maynard. WTF did Maynard do to win 3 rounds last night? Plodded forward and gave Guida the finger? Certainly didn't land enough IMO.

- Have to say, I disagree mate, I thought the decision was a correct one. You say he didnt land enough, but he outstruck Guida in rounds 3,4 and 5. I'm not sure of the official statistics, but I would say Maynard landed more significant strikes in the final 3 rounds.
Also, Guidas tactics were disgraceful. He took Condits game plan against Diaz and multiplyed by 10!!Awful fight to watch, but Maynard definately deserved to win.

Re: General MMA News
- Spoiler:
- Guida was lucky he wasn't deducted multiple points. He should have been docked points in the 2nd, 4th and 5th rounds for literally running away. It was a shocking performance from Guida, the act of a Greg Jackson trained coward. IMO he should be cut for spoiling the fight like that. Disgraceful, and typical of the knob that trains him to come up with that type of gameplan. Dana's tweets last night said it all.

Re: General MMA News
- Spoiler:
- I saw it differently, however, as I say, I cannot stand either fighter TBH. I did like the irony of Gray complaining about someone not wanting to stand and trade, considering his early career was one of laying on top of his opponent for three rounds. It's a tricky one TBH, Condit was hailed on here by some, for using very similar tactics (maybe not quite as blatant or exagerated), and whilst I can completely understand (and agree to an extent) the criticism of Guida, he was up against a stronger fighter and tried to utilise a game of movement and counter striking, maybe it looked more pronounced than Condit, simply because of Guida erratic style?
For the record, I would rather watch England vs Greece with 30minutes of extra time, than watch Guida fight Maynard again, just wondering at what stage does Condit's style, become as unacceptable as Guida's?

Exactly mate, From a guy winning fight of the night back to back and then that ballbag JAckson gets his claws into Guida and turns him into someone I literally fast forwarded through his fight.
Maynard outlanded him so a clear win because he is a bigger hitter landing more.
The Ref should be stopping fighters like that and warning them about refusing to engage. The funny thing is Greg Jackson say Judges give Edgar that undeserved 1st fight against BJ and say Condit run away from Diaz (even though he probabally diserved the win) and though that this is the next hole in MMA scoring he can exploit.
I think Jackson needs to remember that the scoring of MMA is completley open to interperation. the only way to insure a points win is by beating your opponent down form the 1st bell to the last, running away shouldnt come into it.

It's the same place that Ali fought Frazier,The "thriller in Minilla"
Ole Laursen been rumoured as an opponent, since he's already agreed to be on the card and he has called Aoki out in the past.
Eduard Folayang would probably be better, since I think most thought he should of got the decision against Laurson.
I'm still abit green on most of there fighters,I'm still learning about most of them as I watch and read about them.

they signed Bibiano Fernandes!
he turned down UFC's offer to sign with ONE FC, will be making his debut in Manilla.
I think the best opponent they can offer him is Leandro Issa.

Re: General MMA News
That sucks,I was hoping to see how he would do in the UFC's BW division, but if he is just in it for the quick money and not the challenge of proving he's the best, you can't really blame him for taking the more lucrative deal at One FC,fighting easier opponents.
I am surprised though, especially with the UFC's huge current boom in Brazil, that any top Brazilian fighter wouldn't want to be apart of it,because I can't see any offer that One FC could make that would match or come anywhere close to the overall potential money earning possibilities, that a successful Brazilian UFC fighter can make at this time.

Re: General MMA News
Bibi has always said that he only fights MMA for the money, his real love is BJJ and if he could make as much only competing in BJJ then he would.
To be honest i think its quite likely that the UFC lowballed him, I heard ONE FC's offer was much more lucrative.
You have a point about there being more potential in the UFC though.
