Couture vs Machida for UFC 129!

Hope this is true! I think its a brilliant fight for both guys! Im backing Machida to win via KO if it happens, Think it will be Coutures last fight.

not a good fight in my opinion.

easy win for Machida, he will win via knockout.

this fight is easy for machida but i just love to see randy in there competing.

Poor matchmaking and a raw deal for Couture. Couture is getting knocked out in this fight and i'd be amazed if he landed a meaningful strike. Shame that Couture's career will end for a second time staring at the lights.

Couture's been asking for this one, or Shogun. His best chance of doing anything though might be trying to spoil the fight through wall'n'stall and grind one out. Unfortunately for him the likely outcome will be a Machida win via KO.

Randy is slower than Rampage, just as easy to hit and doesn't have nearly as good a chin. He's going to get beaten badly.

so is this a retirment fight or a step up in competition? strange for randy to go looking for an opponent.

Either Couture wall'n'stalls his way to a decision (very unlikely), or Machida TKO's him in the first (very likely).

Machida by KO.Bad fight for randy,will be retiring on a loss sadly,should have been cro cop at hw for a farewell fight.

serious mismatch randy is going to get hurt if they go through with this wont stop me from cheering for him though

Can't see it really,but still can't wait for the fight,good on Randy for showing the heart and courage to call for this fight,a true champion,with a true fighters spirit.

Yes.

Randy is too slow to catch Machida and he's not going to able to clinch with him for long enough to push him back against the cage and try to wall and stall.

if randy wants to wall and stall he will have to catch him first.

One thing he will be is the aggressor he just needs to throw haymakers!!

That actually not a bad point. To win a fight in the UFC these days you need to do 1 of 2 things.

1) Plod forward throwing haymakers that are more likely to leave you falling over than hit your opponent. You don't have to land, just keep moving forward because that's "agression and octagon control". Don't worry about your opponent hitting you. That's fine. Just keep moving forward.

2) Hit your opponent, then run 2 laps of the octagon before hitting him again and running again. If you get knocked down once, get up and let yourself get knocked down 4 more times because only the first one counts. It doesn't matter if your opponent outboxes you and basically beats the fuck out of you, as long as you keep running around the ring and then get 1 takedown per round that's all that is needed. Nope, it doesn't matter if after your takedown you don't mount any offence.
