I think the fight makes sense, but is a bad match-up for Nate - i see him losing this time around, Palhares won't make the same mistake twice.

You mean Nate won't get to cheat again.

I guarantee Palhares has been given a nice big payrise as well. hush money over Nate the Grease's blatant cheating.

Yeah you could say that! I think Nate is being shown up as distinctly average recently. If this fight is made, he can shave all he likes and work up a sweat pre-fight, he's gonna tap

Exactly. Okami and Sonnen have made him look awful. Palhares would have tapped him if not for the cheating and Nate might be facing the cut.

I think Palhares is a legit contender at MW. He's got decent hands, good power, good wrestling and his ground game is incredible. He's also got an unbelievable chin.

Ive always liked Palhares too, and you didnt mention the Wheel kicks he can throw! Palhares is bad ass, Id love him to beat Nate in a rematch and its a fight that makes sence. Heres hoping we see it, Palhares IMO is far more likely to win the title than Maia id say who is much higher ranked.

Palhares vs Belfort if he looses to Anderson is a fight id love to see and one that might suit him.

Yeah Nate was comprehensively dominated in the first fight until Palhares stopped and nate hit him a couple of times. Even then, Palhares was not out or close to it, he just didn't defend himself!

Exactly. He just stopped fighting. Nate's comically "i would have knocked him out" comments afterwards were just brilliant. Palhares gave him 4 free undefended shots on the ground and wasn't even rocked in the slightest!

nothing announced yet but this is what his camp are saying.

Rousimar Palhares has signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC and the middleweight jiu jitsu specialist is looking to avenge his September knockout at the hands of Nate Marquardt, which halted "Toquinho's" three-fight win streak.

"We've signed a new contract for Toquinho today, he'll fight four more times,"Palhares' coach Murilo Bustamante recently told Tatame.

"He's very motivated, he know that he let the victory escape (against Marquardt), he made a mistake, but these things happen in life, but he's crazy to fight Nate again. He wants this fight pretty bad and he's … training every day as if he had a fight scheduled."

After dropping a decision to Dan Henderson in 2008, Palhares reeled off three-straight wins over Jeremy Horn, Lucio Linhares, and Tomasz Drwal before falling to Marquardt in the main event of September's UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 22.

Quotes from Marquardt today - talk about deluded! He doesn't seem to realise (or admit) that the only reason he 'TKO'd' Palhares was because he stopped
fighting! It's clear from this that he is ducking Palhares, i'd love for the UFc to offer him the fight anyway and see what happens.

“Yesterday, [Rousimar] Palhares began telling anyone who would listen that he wants a rematch. This fight makes no sense to me. I TKO'd him at the 3:28 mark of round one - then after he lost, he tried to make excuses by saying I was greasing! These allegations were immediately discounted by the Texas athletic commission. If Rousimar wants a rematch he will have to earn it, the same way that I will have to earn another title shot. Which brings me to my final point, who will I fight next.

“In order to re-establish myself as the number one contender, my next opponent needs to be an elite fighter who will stand and bang with me in the center of the Octagon until one of us is knocked out. The fight that makes the most sense to me is Wanderlei Silva. I have a ton of respect for Wanderlei and have wanted this fight for years, the fans have wanted this fight, they deserve to see two of the best fighters in the world in an all out war.

“Wanderlei is an amazing fighter who is very aggressive, I will pursue him with unwavering tenacity, then I will knock him out! I promise the UFC, Dana, my fans, my team, my coaches and most importantly myself that never again will there be a question about my cage aggression."

Marquardt-Wanderlei doesn't really interest me. Nate seems to portray himself as someone who stands and bangs with people all the time. In another quote he says:

"I firmly believe that I am one of the best fighters in the world and will one day be the UFC middleweight champion. However.....in order to live up to my full potential and realize my championship dreams I need to be more aggressive and showcase my inherent killer instinct."

Nate the Grease has never been the number 1 contender. Not sure why he's talking about re-establishing himself. He's a known cheat and steroid user who's win over Palhares was due to blatant cheating and the referees incompetence.

I love that he thinks people should earn a fight with him? Who does he think he is?

He's a complete prick and i hope that when Palhares gets that ankle next time he snaps it.
