Bisping needs at least two more wins against a top 10, and a top 5 MW. He's never beaten a top 10 fighter, why does he think he's close to a title shot?

I've been quite bored today so I've been rewatching Akiyama's fights from Japan and the UFC and I honestly think we over-rated him hugely by even considering him for the top 10. He's a tough guy, with good power and great Judo but he's not a great fighter. He's Cote level at best IMO. Lower end of the top 20. I mean, Belcher almost beat him and he's not very good. Leben beat him and he's not great either. His biggest wins are Kang and Manhoef. Manhoef hits like a truck but overall he's not very good and Kang is average at his best. Of course he beat Sakuraba but got caught cheating. Akiyama is just a slightly better level of competition than the usual shit Bisping gets fed. I say give The Cunt Palhares or Sonnen next.

Palhares could literally snap one of Bisping limbs off, that would be a bad match up for Bisping, as Palhares would take it too him in the standup and not just sit back like some of Bispings most recent opponents and also Bisping would be a fool to try to mix in takedowns with his standup which he has been doing recently.

And Sonnen would ofcourse molest Bisping for 15 mins, if Bisping lasts that long. I think Bisping will fight the loser of Anderson-Belfort next, and i dont think that would go to well for him either.

Out of all the top guys at MW in UFC, Bisping's best chance is against Maia. And i think Maia would win that exchange more often than not.

Palhares would just walk through Bisping's shots. It would be funny to watch. Then he pick him up, slam him down and dominate him before breaking whatever limb he decides to grab hold of.

I don't often get involved in match up stuff Red, but you are joking surely? Maia could stand Bisping tapping his face and take him down surely? Then he would turn him inside out??

They’re at the back of the line. There are plenty of good contenders. I’ve got to build on this win. One more good solid win against a good name opponent, I think I deserve a title shot. But I need one more win.”

“The Dan Henderson fight, that’s the only fight I’ve lost at middleweight. I know it’s controversial to say it, but I feel I beat Wanderlei Silva. Other than that, I’ve beaten Wanderlei, Denis Kang, Dan Miller, now Akiyama, so I feel I’m ready. But obviously there are other guys out there in the same position. One more victory over one of those guys puts me there.”

You would think Bisping would be happy to fight the loose who will still probabally be top 10 when he isnt top 10.

What a prick, if a higher ranked guy is coming off a loss is still ranked over him he should consider it a step up. I say let him get beat down by Wanderlei again. I love him saying he won, The picture of him in a heap and Wanderlei celebrating really sums up the fight, Bisping got put down and a punch away from being finished and he thinks he won! Laughing What a bitter prick the fact Matt Hamill was robbed against him you think he would just accept sometimes decisions arent going to be handed to you!

I really want Wanderlei to rematch him insted of fighting Leben.

Akiyama, Wanderlei, Miller were all coming off losses.
    what is he on about?

Bisping easily won rounds 2 and 3 but definitely lost the first round. When Akiyama has the gas for it, he can hit really hard and appears to have a pretty solid chin as Le Banner is the only guy to ever knock him out (legally). Bisping really needs to work on his punching power. He lands a large number of strikes whilst standing but seems to be unable to stop anyone with them. If he worked on his strength then maybe he could start doing what Nick Diaz does, the sheer number of mid power strikes causing a stoppage. If I was in The Count's corner I would be really worried about the lack of stopping power as you know he's going to have to go the distance in most cases which is bad news as a lot of the middle weights have finishing power in their strikes.

Not to be rude, Ben, but Broughton has always been a quality fighter. He's a real brawler, he might not throw particularly crisp combinations but he knows how to drag people into wars of attrition which he's very good at winning. What always impresses me is his level of conditioning for someone his shape. It'd be interesting to see what he'd be like if he could cut down on some of the excess bulk (the same with Roy Nelson too) as I'm sure it can't help in the long run. He doesn't need to look cut it just might give him a bigger edge over his opponents.

Finally, I think matching Hathaway up against Mike Pyle was a mistake. The Hitman is still very young and his biggest victory to date was against Diego Sanchez who was coming up from light weight. I was speaking with a guy who has trained with Hathaway at the gym today and he said that he's always looked very stiff when throwing his strikes which is clearly something that he needs to work on. The most important thing to remember though is that the guy is only 23. He's the third youngest fighter in the UFC (according to Joe Rogan) and throwing him in against a veteran like Mike Pyle on the main card in his home country was a mistake. I didn't think he'd have a chance against Sanchez and thought he was being fed to the Nightmare to get him back to his winning ways but Hathaway's size really made a difference (apparently he cuts down from about 185lbs to make welter weight).

Yep, if Maia were to fight Bisping, i would predict Maia taking him down and submitting him. The reason i say Maia is his best chance is because there always a chance Bisping would punch Maia and then run away for the whole 15 mins. Laughing Its about the only thing he could do in that case.

Bottomline is that, if he fought Nate, Anderson, Belfort he will get knocked out. Palhare could knock him out or submit him with ease. If he fought Sonnen or Okami he will get taken down and dominated. So hitting and running against Maia is his best option....

Sure Palhares could ko Bisping. He'd walk through the pillow punches and land a wheel kick to KO bisping Twisted Evil In my mind i can see it happening perfectly!

    Nice 1 for this Meanie

McSweeney definitely looks better suited to 205 IMO,but I still think this will be his last UFC fight for a while.
He was looking really good in that first rd,but then his cardio just seemed to disappear from him and he just crashed,I don't really think it was the cut to be honest,I think the pace he set, obviously had alot to do with it,but also I think, because he was fighting infront of his home crowd,he got to excited,to pumped up and let his emotion and the occasion get the better of him in the 1st rd,which caused his body to crash going into the second.I'm not saying he would of won,but I think had this fight been elsewhere,I don't think he would of crashed as hard and as quickly.

He should stick to 205 and go and get some fights under his belt on some smaller shows for a while.

Maldanado looks like a tough bastard though,he was eating some big kicks in the 1st rd and didn't even seem to flinch.
He has some sting on his punches also and threw them from quite a few good angles,to the head and to the body, his combos at the end to finish it,were pretty crisp as well, but to be honest,I'm not reading to much into that really, because basically,he was landing them on a human punch bag who didn't really want to be there in the end.
I'd heard that his boxing record was really padded and that the guys he had beat in boxing were really really low level, but after watching him,IMO his boxing skills seemed pretty good and I think he will be a threat to alot of guys that will want to try and stand and bang against him.

Palhares hits hard. Bisping's chin is not good. Recipe for a sleep.

Akiyama's big right in the first round caught him around the ear. Had it caught him in the jaw it was over.

Brazilian heavyweight Vinicius Kappke de Quieroz has allegedly tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol following his UFC 120 undercard loss to Rob Broughton on Oct. 16 in London.

News of Quieroz's test and subsequent release from the company was first reported by MMAJunkie.com on Tuesday morning, and later confirmed by Marc Ratner, UFC vice president of regulatory affairs. Since UFC 120 took place in England, the UFC acted as its own regulatory body, performing the services typically reserved for state athletic commissions in the United States. Headlining fighters Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama tested clean, as did six other randomly-chosen fighters.

Quieroz made his UFC debut in London and was on a four-fight winning streak before falling to Broughton. The Chute Boxe product is a knockout specialist, having notched all five of his career victories by KO. In his fight with Broughton, however, the “Spartan” was unable to put the Brit away early and became noticeably fatigued as the fight wore on. Broughton pounced on the hulking Brazilian in round three and sent him packing with a rear-naked choke.

Stanozolol is an anabolic steroid derived from testosterone, developed in 1962 by Winthrop Laboratories. Unlike many other steroids, which must be injected, Stanozolol may be taken in tablet form. Commonly sold under the name Winstrol, the steroid is sometimes prescribed to treat anemia and hereditary angioedema. The UFC will reportedly release the findings against Quieroz to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which may affect the fighter's license eligibility in the United States in the future.
