What's Up With Wanderlei?

I was watching UFC 110 in Sydney last weekend and was wondering what the story is with Wanderlei Silva. I know he says he had surgery to repair scar tissue, but was it really necessary to make him look like the runner up in a Leslie Ashe look alike contest? I'm surprised that he didn't have to come out in a bowl.

Does anyone else think that he was given the decision over Bisping out of pity?

I watched the fight alright, the biggest danger to Bisping was Silva's huge lips.

If Bisping hadn't slipped at the end of the third round he would have finished Wanderlei.

Granted Wandi shouldn't have got a UD cause I think Bisping won the first round... but after that it was all Wandi

Are you serious or being a WUM? Wanderlei wan the fight 29-28 by everyones books but Bispings. Seriously the 1st was close and as a huge Wanderlei fan id say the 2nd was close as well, The Choke at the end near put Bisping away and won him the round, Bispings TD's ment shit because he didnt do a thing with them, Wandy was straight up and GnP Bisping when he scored the Sweeps. The 3rd was a 10-9 or even heard it scored 10-8 because being a punch away from finishing the fight is as much a 10-8 as the 1st round could have been 10-10. Bisping couldnt have won on any scorecard.

And Wandy had scar tissue removed and his caveman eyebrows because he kept getting cut. His bones in his Nose also needed fixed, they were smashed beyone recognition, it even shocked the surgeons. His lips had nothing done to them! The guy has always looked like that. Other fighters have had the same done in the past!

Wandy is a top 10 ever p4p fighter in the sport, He is above Liddell and Couture in any HOF rankings you would put togeather. You have your opinions but as an MMA Fan shocked that you dont have more respect from a guy who has put on some of the greatest fights in the sport.

If anyone cared enough or this newguy wants to see if he is right, Stick those fighters names into Shergog fight finder. Id put a good bet they have loosing records in most cases. Have a look at Bisping record... putting a few powerpuff punches in Wanderleis face and making it to a deciscion isnt an achievement.

The guy has a win over Kang, Who as I pointed out got cut (And Dropped Bisping)

And what else has he done with his career? Beat Eric Red Schafer? And thats your lot.

Bisping lost that fight clearly. It was a pretty close fight but still clearly 29-28, certainly wasn't out of pity. Bisping won the first round on takedowns, not striking, his standup was very poor in that fight (as always) and Wandy was having an easy fight on the feet. Bisping did well with the majority of his takedowns, he screwed one up right at the end of the second round and that probably proved decisive.

Whatever way you look at it this was a pretty poor performance from Wandy and Bisping still couldn't beat him, shows the standard of fighter he is.

When Anfield comes back, I think he's got a new enemy.

Wanderlei got lucky. If it wasn't for the botched guillotine attempt and Wanderlei's desperation assault at the end Mikey would have won the fight easily. He took Wanderlei down at will and fought his fight. Bisping wouldn't make the same mistakes if they fought again. Wanderlei has no chance against Anderson.

Bisping got Lucky, If that choke was 5 seconds earlier in the round, Bisping would have tapped. If that Knockdown in the 3rd was 2seconds earlier he woulda stopped Bisping. Im Wanderleis biggest fan on here and I said it was a close fight but how can Wanderlei be "Lucky"... nearly got outpointed?

Wanderlei fought a far to safe fight but he the fight was going differently he could have put his foot on the gas and put Bisping in danger. Bisping didnt offer a threat. Wanderli stopped Bisping in his tracks with a JAB!! watch it again, there was shots glancing Bisping that could have put him down, even Bisping getting clipped coming out of the clintch in the 1st he felt. you forget Wanderli wasnt in trouble of being KO'd and Bisping was.... Meaning if he had of needed to wrecklessly put the foot on the gas and go for an all out assault he could have! Bisping had 1 tactic that could have won his the fight, Stick and move then Takedown, He followed that plan to the best of his ability, Didnt work though ane theres nothing else he could have done.

In a rematch what will be do different? Nothing, cant Brawl, cant keep him down. What will Wanderlei do in a rematch? realise Bisping cant hurt him and he can Floor Bisping, he would be more confident in a rematch and smell Bispings fear from the start.

bisping completed 5/9 td attempts and failed to hold him down every time.

Bisping is lucky it wasnt PRIDE rules! he would have gotten submitted at some point in the middle of the 10 min first round, and if he managed to escape his head would be in the crowd after Wand dropped him!


i like Bisping, but he lost to a better fighter.
