    Butterbean retired soon... Butterbean
    Butterbean retired soon... Eric-Esch

Just read that Butterbean apparently retired in October after taking a SD loss in a 4 round Boxing fight. It was to Harry Funmaker at fat Journeyman who lost to him years ago. Wikipeda said this "Esch has said he has fought his final US fight, and will be fully retired soon, after other international obligations are completed" Maby a last fight in Dream? Maby they will let him fight Sapp or someone on NYE?

Heres the fight before that (His 2nd last ever Boxing match)

Butterbean vs James Thompson... Thompson gave Kimbo a close fight... fight starts at 4:40, Butterbean called out Kimbo for a while but a fight never came about.

I wanted to see Butterbean vs Mariusz after he won Friday night, Heres a young Butterbean vs a 273lbs Powerlifter, Its a boxing fight but the Powerlifter wants to make it a sumo match! Worth a watch

Butterbeans latest MMA fight against Tom Howard

A great HL video (Shows his laters K-1 fight at the 6:10 mark) Look out for Hl's of the fight with cabbage were he breaks Cabbages ribs with a bodypunch, he lost a tooth in the fight!

Butterbean certainly had his ups and down in his fighting career, At one stage Sherdog ranked Superheavys and I think he was close to the top! He gave old man Larry Holmes a some trouble in a fight that if he won he would have gone on to meet Tyson! Also he Beat 3 different Pro Wrestlers Bart Gunn in 27 seconds, Sean O'Haire in 29 seconds and Tom Howard twice most recently in 1 min 40! Outting to bed the Arguement who is tougher WWE or MMA Laughing

He started his career was a "The King of the 4 rounders" A Promising toughman champion weighting 300lbs and ended up a near 420lbs MMA American Top Team trained fighter with 6 of his 14 wins coming by way of Sub!

Its no secret Butterbean is one of my favorite ever fighers, The man has never failed to entertain, even in defeat he will go out swining a left hook or that right overhand of his! One of the most powerfull punchers ever will be hanging his gloves up soon, a real likeable guy and always an entertainer no matter what he turned his hand to. The guy was a Boxer, in WWE, K-1 and MMA! Maby the only guy to ever cross over into them all?

Anyway any other Bean fans? How would you like to see him finish his career?

The fights Id like before he hangs his gloves up are

    Tank Abbott
    Ray Mercer
    Tim Sylvia
    Mighty Mo
    Mariusz Pudzianowski
    Bob Sapp

Any of these fights would be a good note to end on. Ill be sad to see the big man finally hang the goves up Crying or Very sad A veteran of over 150 fights (Toughman, Pro Boxing, K-1 and MMA) he is a legend in my eyes. Thanks for the memories Mr Bean!

How can anybody not love the Bean.

It would have been great if Tyson had agreed to that four rounder with the Bean years ago.

I think Sapp would be the perfect guy for the Bean to go out on,and to be honest it's mad how they have traveled very similar paths, yet have never met yet.(not counting a Sumo match)

Sapp is already on the NYE card without an opponent so It could well happen, Id love him to go out with a win over Sapp on the New years card. I wonder how many fights he has left in him overseas... Id say only a 1 or 2. He is only 41! But seeing the shape he has kept in im supprised he went that long!
