Should be a great fight but If I'm honest I was expecting Cerrone to to get someone a bit higher up the ladder (I was thinking maybe Maynard or even Sherk If he ever gets fit) Think Cerrone will stop nate early Nate is no Nick.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
Two really well matched fighers, Dont sleep on Diaz, the guy was a punch or 2 away from beating Maynard and Beat Guillard.
Its hard to Imagine how this plays out, Striking wise I think Nate hasnt the power to put Cowboy to sleep and I cant see him getting KO'd by Cerrone. Nate has a reach advantage and better hands but Cerrones Kicks easily cancel that out.
Grappling wise they both usually finish by Sub, both have only 1 Sub loss so I cant see either getting tapped easily. Cerrone is probabally more powerfull but I think Nate is more flexable and tricky on the ground I think its even enough there.
As much as I love Nate I think the fact the Diaz boys dont really use Kicks will be a big disadvantage here, I could see him loosing the decision in a striking fight where Cerrone lets rip some nasty leg kicks.
Really looking forward to this one because of their styles and that I think they are so evenly matched. Fan of both guys but Im hoping for Diaz, reckon hecan get a shot at the 155 title some day.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
This will be Cerrone's 5th fight this calender year!!! That is unheard of in UFC. Its great having guys like Cerrone and Bones who fight so often. The 2 divsions could have been at more of a standstill with Edgar having to fight Maynard again and then getting injured. And with Shogun getting injured last year and Rashad deciding to wait a year for a title shot.
And with guys like Koscheck ready to come in at short notice if someone is injured, its these kind of guys that save us from having Interim titles that no one likes.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
Bones?? Only reason he's fighting so often this year is because he was given the undeserved title shot. In 2010 he only fought twice.
I've got Nate to beat Cerrone. I think he'll sub him.

Think Nate not using Kicks will mean Cerrone will be too much for him on the feet? Sticking to Boxing is working great so far for the most part but Whith the Diaz' brothers lanky Build you think they would do some damage with some Muay Thai Sills and kicks.
Shame his Team mate will have the belt before he gets his chance at the 155 title.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
Yes Bones single handedly cleared that logjam at LHW resulting from Shoguns injury. Beat Bader took title fight on 6 weeks notice when Rampage didnt accept. Then defended against Rampage. Accepted title defense against Rashad, Rashad wasnt able to take it and is now giving an undeserved title shot to Machida.
Bader, Shogun, Rampage, Machida in 10 months.

hope diaz wins, find cerrone a bit smug, but should be a crackin fight, is it just me or does cerrone seem huge for a lightweight, must be just his height, but its hard to think him an edgar are in the same weight class he towered over siver too, surely could fight at 170 with ease

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
Cerrone will join Roger Huerta and Nick Diaz as the only other men to fight 5 times in the UFC in a calender year, it's quite an achievement.
Not too sure how this fight will go, I don't think either of them will sub the other though, I think we're in store for 3 rounds of great action. If I had to put money on it then I would back Diaz.

What logjam?? There was no logjam.
He beat Bader, not an achievement.
Was handed a title shot he was a long way from deserving.
Had the benefit of a full 14 years training with a short sparring session with Bader in the middle of it.
He beat an injured Shogun who should never have been allowed fight, not an achievement.
Refused to fight Rashad. Faked an injury to get out of it.
Then miraculously was healed because he has superpowers. Conveniently Rashad had been booked to fight so Bones accepted a fight with Ramplod on the back of a horrible display against Matt Hamill.
Beat Ramplod, fair play. Glorified punch bag who hasn't been any good since Griffin leg kicked his title away from him.
Cried about having his night ruined, faked an injury again, refused to fight Rashad again, then ONCE AGAIN was healed by a divine touch when it became clear that Rashad wouldn't be healthy until the new year and accepted a fight in December so as not to get lined up with Rashad.
Unfortunately for him he's walking into a tougher fight against the most talented, and best, fighter the UFC has at 205. Maybe he did it on purpose. When Machida kicks his ass, Rashad probably won't want to waste his time with Jones anymore and will go after Machida instead. Jones would probably prefer to lose to Machida than Rashad because his cowardly behaviour would be shown up to the whole world if the man he faked injury to avoid twice beat him.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
Great match making here, terrific fight. So far both of these fighters have been very fun to watch but are still a level off the top of the division. The winner of this fight will be close to the top. I'm leaning slightly towards Cerrone but I like both fighters. Top stuff and credit to Cerrone for fighting 5 times in a year.

This is the Co-Main Event apparently I'm a little surprised at that TBH.

With Brock on the card they won't put any other top draws or big names because he'll bring in a million PPV buys on his own.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
I'm glad it's co-main event to be honest! Finally Cerrone is getting some recognition and Diaz is one of my favourite fighters. Can't wait for this fight!!
Yeah Anfield is correct, you could fill this card with a bunch of nobodies (see UFC 138) and it would still sell millions with Brock as headliner.

Re: Cerrone v diaz on for ufc 141
The way I see it is:
Stand-up : Cerrone 55% - 45% Diaz
BJJ : Cerrone 45% - 55% Diaz
Neither are knockout artists nor have either been knocked out. See this as a very technical battle that will go the distance. I give Cerrone a slight edge in standing and Diaz a slight edge on the ground.
