Fedor vs Hendo in June?

My Mate was talking to a few MMA juurnalists last night who said Fedor vs Hendo has been signed as a catchweight bout for June!!!!




I believe this for a few reasons.

SF have confirmed they are thinking about the fight themselves.
Fedor has talked to his camp about cutting to 205 and fighting Hendo already.
Fedor is still in fighting shape and has been at Hoost's Gym.
Hendo said he would accept the fight in a heartbeat.
Hendo has offered to go up to Heavyweight for the GP.
Overeem vs Werdum looser would mean a long layoff for Fedor.

What do you all think?

Its an absolute Mega fight when you think about these two fighers legacy. I think if Fedor sharpens his striking at Hoosts we could see the guy who took the fight to Crocop on the feet back in the day and I think thats going to be too much for Hendo. They both have similar style of TD's but I think Fedor will be stronger in the clintch, better on the ground and more or less matches two of Hendos best Qualities in Punch power and Chin

Got Fedor to win by Sub if its going to happen.

I wonder where it would leave Fedor/UFC if he won and showed he was willing to cut to 205 for a new run? I wonder if M-1 would see there isnt another option but Zuffa now and tone down their crazy requests.

Would be amazing if they did fight when I first heard the fight could happen I thought hendo based on there recent fights etc but after reading your assessment I think I'll have to agree sub rd 3 fedor, would love to see fedor at 205 making a run, on mma live Scott coker reckons we are about 8 to 12 months away from some cross promotion fights

I'm happy to hear that it is likely to be at catchweight, just as long as Fedor doesn't get a shot at the belt after two straight defeats then I have no complaints. I've got Fedor by submission as well.

Good news, but why catchweight? Surely it makes more sense, marketing and logic wise, for it to be at 205 for the title?

Fedor v Jon Jones has the hype potential to be the biggest fight in MMA history, in magnitude if not importance. (assuming they get through Hendo and Rashad respectively)

Maby Fedor having a belt is something Zuffa arent keen on because it might give M-1 more room to renegotiate a contract with them...

Fedor would be the biggest threat to Bones at 205 I reckon.

Agree re bones toughest fight not sure he will be motivated enough to make the limit and be affective at it which is the important part obviously he coulees make 205

Are you talking about cutting weight using some kind of topographical drainage method? Like to lose water weight instead of a sauna?

Catchweight fight makes sense, better to have Fedor gradually reduce his weight, 230 to 215 then to 205 rather than risk having him drop the weight, fuck up the cut and then come in and gas in the second round. I love this fight and hate it at the same time. 2 of my all time favourite fighters, not sure who I'd want to win.

Not sure why people are saying Fedor is a threat to Bones as if Bones even stands a chance. Fedor would destroy Bones who's nothing more than a paper champion and will be until he beats a top fighter who's in shape and not coming off a long layoff.

Fedor vs Hendo, Fedor vs Machida and Fedor vs Shogun are the biggest fights available at 205 if Fedor drops down. I'm sure Machida and Shogun would both be willing to fight him at KimboWeight like Hendo is if Fedor didn't want to go to 205.

I want this fight come on Fedor.

I really dont understand what is to gain by beating Fedor at Heavyweight as oppose to a catchweigt..

I dont get it at all, whats the difference in Fedor having to cut 10lbs or not... Maby he wants the honor of beating Fedor at Hw so there isnt any excuses about being weight drained? thats my only idea as to why he wont do a catchweight fight.

you can bet though that if this fight happens at 205 and fedor loses, his camp will say he only lost because he had to cut weight.
