After this it will be time for a step up in competition. Maybe Hamill? Then perhaps the loser of Forrest-Franklin.

BJ's looking good and seems in pretty damn good shape for the Hughes fight.(I'm getting nervous on my bet now)

I think BJ will destroy Hughes to be honest mate. I think we'll see the good BJ, in shape.

Re: UFC 123 thread
My reasoning for backing Hughes is because obviously the size differance,I was kind of expecting a flabby out of shape BJ turning up for this fight to be honest and Hughes has been looking pretty sharpe in his last few.
I mean judging by BJ's attitude and demeanor in his last two fights against Edgar,he looked like a fighter thats heart is just not in it anymore,I thought he was taking this fight as just one of his last big paydays because he'd now given up the Idea of getting his belt back, but looking at the shape he has himself in,I could be wrong,Hughes maybe just the perfect opponent he needs at this stage of his career to get him remotivated enough to get back on track.
Which would be great for me,since he's one of my all time favourite fighters, infact this is weird how I'm backing a fighter that I haven't got much time for at all in Hughes and his Jock, bible bashing ways, to beat one of my all time favourites in BJ.
We will see if BJ is back on saturday night.

Re: UFC 123 thread
I think Hughes is getting over-hyped because he's won 3 in a row. But Almeida's never been up to much, Renzo is 2 years older than God and i thought Serra beat him. I think Hughes is done and that the Hughes that we saw against GSP and Alves was a truer reflection than his last 3 fights.

Re: UFC 123 thread
I really don't have a clue how this fights going to go really,I thought hughes was done a couple of years ago,but he's come back and won 3 back to back,(against not the greatest comp granted, but far from crap comp either)where as a year ago,I didn't think there was a LW in the world that could come close to beating BJ and then Edgar makes him look ordinary twice, even though I personally thought BJ just edged the first fight, but still it was alot closer than what i ever imagined it would be at the time.
What I do know though,is I can't wait for it to happen now, even though I wasn't to excited about it when it was first announced.
This whole card is looking great,I can't wait,I just hope it lives up to expectations.

Re: UFC 123 thread
The UFC needs this card to be great, they've had a run of poor cards. Cain vs Lesnar saved 121. 122 was awful, 120 was shit too, the less said about 119 the better, greasegate was poor, 118 was a disaster, 117 was good because of the main event but the rest was fairly average. 116 was over-hyped and flopped. 115 was probably the last good card.

just a little thing that i picked up at the place i train..ie with the Wolfslair
Rampage isnt training properly or at all...some of the Wolfslair trainers went over to america to train with him and most of the time couldnt get him off his fat ass out of his house while he was surrounded by fast foot wrappers...
expect machida to nail the shit outa him...from what im hearing he want out to pursue his 'acting' career and doesnt want to fight anymore..thing is i watched him in Death Warrant with suga and GSP..terrible..oh god it was terrible!!!!

Re: UFC 123 thread
MAIN CARD
•Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (205) vs. Lyoto Machida (205)
•Matt Hughes (169) vs. B.J. Penn (169)
•Tim Boetsch (205) vs. Phil Davis (205)
•Joe Lauzon (155) vs. George Sotiropoulos (155)
•Maiquel Falcao (185) vs. Gerald Harris (185)
PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)
•Matt Brown (170) vs. Brian Foster (170)
•Mark Munoz (185) vs. Aaron Simpson (185.5)
PRELIMINARY CARD (un-aired)
•Dennis Hallman (170) vs. Karo Parisyan (170)
•Edson Barboza (155) vs. Mike Lullo (155)
•Paul Kelly (155) vs. T.J. O'Brien (155)
•Nik Lentz (155) vs. Tyson Griffin (155)
Machida got boo'ed again at the weigh-ins, Rampage got a very good reception. Some tension between Rampage-Machida at the stare down, Dana had to seperate them, while Rampage pushed Machida's hand away from his face. Not much in it really but hopefully it will get both guys fired up.

Is it just me or would the Karo and Paul Kelly fights be better on the Spike pre-lims than the two fights they are showing?

Re: UFC 123 thread
The Munoz vs Simpson fight doesn't strike me as very appealing either.
