The Overlooked Hall of Famer....

No I want to make it a propper sporting HOF, Inoki hadnt an MMA record to speak off. Id rather only guys who were are from the modern eara. I look at it like its an "MMA" Hall of fame and not a "Martial Arts Hall of fame" if it was the type of HOF Inoki was in youd make a case for Bruce Lee etc.. Wasnt Inoki a Catchwrestler? If so didnt he sort of Pioneer that as a style or single martial art insted of MMA???

So on that basis Id not put him in... sorry bro!

And Seriously when Chesty pointed out that I said old guys may not have the same names on the records you gotta think about this....

Won two UFC Tournaments and lost to Coleman in the final of antother one while going 15-1 over 6 years with his only loss to Coleman! How dont we have Frye in? His 1st loss after Coleman was Yoshida who in farness would have a sniff at getting in himself! That loss was stopped a 4 year run where he beat some seriously good fighers Ken Shammy included.

You talk about guys who revolutionarised styles, watch Don Frye double up on a hook Thomas Ramirez in his 1st fight, He could Wrestler and Box which for UFC 8 was as cross trained as they came!



Maby Its cause I enjoy the Takayama fight, Maby its cause I admire the Tash but but lets put 2 time UFC tournament winner Don Frye in...

by the way i agree on not having Inoki in, he fought a bunch of "MMA fights" accoring to wikipedia, but i have never seen any apart from Ali, and apparently they were mostly fixed.

i was just making the point about pioneers, whilst being inferior fighters in absolute terms, can be more deserving of HOF.

We should set up another hall of fame covering all those people who have contributed in some way or other to making MMA the sport it is today. We have covered elite fighters - how about those guys like Jeremy Horn and Travis Fulton who would never make the HOF but deserved to be recognised. Could include administrators, commentators, coaches etc etc...

Then again the possibilities are endless....

What about... Ricco Rodriguez if he comes back from his knee op, i know its unlikely but if he does then surely he should be knocking on the door for the HOF.

Inoki should get in, just for this...
