Shogun vs Machida Empty Shogun vs Machida

    Post  redmeanie77 Wed May 05, 2010 11:05 pm

Well theres a thread about Kimbo Meathead but non on Machida Shogun affraid

Anyway how do people see this fight going? Can Machida do anything different this time around to cope more with Shogun? Will Shogun be a bit more aggresive in the fight or will he employ the same tactics in this fight also?

    More importantly who wins this?

Man this is going to be one of the fights of the year for sure! I'm not going to call anyone because usually the other guy wins ha ha!

Rua wins this if it turns into a brawl and uses his leg kicks to slow Lyoto down, Lyoto wins it if he stays patiant and hits him with a quick flurry...

Love both fighters and just really hope its a good fight as the UFC needs a successful card, due to the lack of them recently!

All depends on whether Shoguns more aggressive tactics work, he will certainly push the tempo, but theres always that niggling worry with machida that one counter punch will turn the fight around pale

I think Machida will win this one convincingly and remind people of why he is so highly thought of.

T wouldn't be surprised to see Shogun win either but I'm going to go with Machida TKO Round 2.

Shogun all the way, he has really stepped up his training and if he fights the same fight as last time im sure he will get the nod after the controversy of the 1st decision.

He has worked hard at adding more power to his kicks and last fight he did a lot of damage to Machida. Shogun is the only Lhw who can match Machida for speed and rexlexes so I think he can afford to be more agressive and do a bit more damage.

Machida isnt KO'ing Shogun but I dont see Shogun stopping Machida as I havnt really seen Machida in trouble and if he ever is he seems to get out of trouble quickly,

Ive got Shogun winning by 4 rounds to 1 this time

I must actually say, I have no idea pale

For the PL7, I flipped a coin, put Machida in but still put Shogun to have KO of the night. Like last time I think this is going to be an extremley close fight.

I do not think it will go to a decision though, reason being, Shogun will not want it to go the judges again and really niether does Machida. Shogun wasn't screwed IMO in there last fight, but I did think he won the fight the first few times I watched it, all by 3 rounds to 2. So with that being said he was definitley unlucky and I think he will go all out to avoid it going to the judges. That could mean he either goes full out, KOs Machida or falls right into Machida's hands and gets KOed. Machida im sure doesn't want the bad publicity of a bad decision.

Either way, Im watching this as mostly a neutral. I love wathcing both guys fight equally and I just hope for a great fight. The shame about there last fight, wasn't the decision, it was that people actually overlooked how good a fight it was. More of the same please.

Why are so many people not going out on a limb on calling someone?

Shogun has good odds for this fight, although not as big as he was at 104, but decent odds here too.

I would definatly have money on Shogun, remember i told people to put money on Melendez and King Mo a few weeks ago Wink I hope im right again.

Good for Machida, he should have said this a long time ago. I've never been a Dana hater but he was a complete dick to Machida after that fight and was very unproffesinal. Nicely done Machida.

i hear what he is saying but Dana can complain about the judges if he wants, he doesnt employ them and there credentials are null in mma.

I did think he should have keep his feeling private, Shogun and Machida are both great fighters and i'm sure he wouldn't want them fighting anywhere else... you got to keep everyone happy in this game!! All i'm hoping for is a great fight and something we can all get stuck into Sunday morning ha ha! I think the topic page after the last fight was prob about 6 pages long!

Dana can say whatever he wants about the fight, he got alot of stick from fans over the fight which is silly because he doesnt have any control over the judges. Its not like he is the only person that tought Shogun won.... Rolling Eyes

He say the robbery like all of us, he corrected it by an instant rematch and gave Shogun the win bonus. If Machida is upset people thought he lost, well he better get used to it.
