I think I'm going to watch this fight, sounds quite good and I haven't watched a boxing match since Pacquiao vs Mosely.

I'm really looking forward to Wlad vs Haye. I'm a big fan of Wlad, I think he's skils as a boxer often get overlooked because of the success of his brother. In his own right he's a very talented boxer and a good human being as well. Never been a fan of Haye, I think he's quite overrated by the British media. Hope Wlad sparks him.

Kimbo Slice Ready for Pro-Boxing Debut

The MMA veteran will headline an event...

Former EliteXC and UFC fighter Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson is set to make his pro-boxing debut on August 13th.

He will headline the main event at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla.

No opponent has been announced for the show. Ferguson was dropped from UFC after a loss to Matt Mitrione at UFC 113.

I didn't think deserved it's own thread, but I thought it was interesting.

I know Kimbo is meant to be a brawler but he got KOed by a jab. My guess is he's going to get a can or something like that. I'm not sure he's going to do any better in boxing than in MMA.

He was horrible, completely outboxed, outmuscled and outclassed. He went to ground far too early and never really showed any urgency. Wladmir destroyed him with the jab. It was a pretty poor fight, I feel sorry for everyone who traveled to see it in the rain. Two years of trash talking and he got embarrassed. Then he made excuses right after.

Whoever was put in charge of organising the arena for the fight should be sacked. Am I right in thinking it doesn't even have a roof? Why was a stadium without a roof even chosen to host a boxing match? The fans got soaked, Haye and Wlad had to wear plastic bags on there feet to get to the ring, and oh don't get me started on getting to the ring. Haye was nearly knocked out about 20 times on the way to the ring, that could have been a lot more dangerous than what it was.

As for the fight, I was embarassed for Haye, as soon as Wlad had him in the corner after the first 5 seconds I feared the worst. I really hope that him going all the time whenever he was touched wasn't part of the game plan because thats really pathetic. Wlad shouldn't have had a point taken off but Haye shouldn't have got a count either, so the ref made up for it really. Wlad had it easy in there, although most top heavyweights would have as all they had to do was avoid an overhand right that was launched from about 3 feet away from Wlad every time. I was watching it in Ibiza so I haven't had chance to see the post fight interviews, but from what I make of it Haye has been blaming the loss entirely on a broken little toe, quite sad really.

Ye the venue looked awful, having no roof was a dumb, dumb idea.

I was pretty suprised when Haye got a count as well, but he clearly launched himself to the ground. The excuses he came up with were the broken toe and the ref not dealing with Wlad "throwing" him to the ground. Haye went down far too easily and I really had no idea what he was playing at.

The stats were embarrassing after as well. Wlad out struck Haye in every round except for the 4th. Wlad dominated with the jab as usual, 105/134 punches were jabs. He averaged 42 punches thrown per round- 31 of which were jabs. Of his 134 landed punches, 105 were jabs. Haye averaged 24 total punches thrown per round- half the heavyweight average.

Wlad landed 134 punches, Haye landed 72. Far too easy for Wlad, Haye's only real attack was as you say that overhand right that Stevie Wonder could see coming a mile away.

Pretty much what I was expecting I was trying to convince myself Haye could do It but deep down I knew Wlad would beat him convincingly the big surprise was Wlad's speed Wlad's no slouch but It was surprising that Haye no advantage in the speed department.

It's sad to see Haye bang on about a broken little toe being the reason why he didn't perform better I was hoping this might humble him a bit but I suppose at least he is admitting he lost the fight fairly.

Haye is a bum, he wont be remembered as even a great british boxer, IMO as limited as he was Bruno would have beat Haye sencless.

Wald would have KO'd him if he had half of his Brothers killer instinct.

Funny thing is Wlad's managment arent remotley interested in a rematch, Which is fair enough because Haye bearly won a round but they said Vitali might be an option for him! Id kill to see Vitali maul him and end his career.

Broken little toe... thats up there with Shaving rash and bad hair day in terms of excuses for loosing! Laughing
