Kampmann should be walking into a title shot but he is fighting Hendricks Who Could have earned a title shot himself. So we have these 2 fighting of for the shot after Condit.

Diaz is back soon and he is another fight away from a title shot guy. Ellenberger too. Loosing to Kampmann is no shame and he is stil top 5/6 id say. A win over Penn would put MacDonald up there too.

I hope GSP or Condit dont sit about after their fight because its feeling like 155lbs was a while ago with a long queue of guys who are due a shot.

It makes me think a fight with Anderson isnt happening unless GSP Looses.

IMO It always has been It's just a huge credit to GSP for being so dominate in the division, .

Condit, Diaz, Kampmann, Ellenberger, Hendricks, Fitch, Silva, Pierce, MacDonald, Penn and now Maia it's ridiculous how deep the division is.

I think 155 and 170 have been the 2 most stacked devisions but with Edgar and Guida moving to 155 and Penn to 170 it really weakened it.

There are so many fights lining up for GSP. I dont mind if he doesnt fight Anderson because id like to see him defend as quickly as possible coming off such a long lay off. Also Anderson is avoiding Bones (who he is closer in size to) to fight GSP which seems a cowerdly move to me. I dont really like it. GSP walk about 190lbs, Anderson 220lbs and Jones 230lbs (Im sure Anfield will say heavier!) he is much closer to Jones.

Erick Silva might make a big impact on the devision if he beats Fitch, how you rate his chances? Seems a big step up to take on a guy who was clear number 2 for years.

Alves I think could get right in the Mix, he was neary beating Kampamnn, maby Alves for Diaz return fight?

At 170 There are the most guys I could imagine challenging for the title. I wonder if GSP will look so unbeatable when he returns? the new crop of challengers will all provide something new for him to deal with anyway.

I honestly think It's a real tough fight for Silva I want to back Silva but Fitch stylistically IMO is a night mare match up for Silva with his grinding style and relentless snuggling It's tough not to go against the more experienced veteran Fitch.

With GSP's return unlike Silva and Jones GSP has some real challenges still left in the division with guys like Ellenberger, Kampmann, Hendricks and possibly Silva (If he can get past Fitch) in the mix (I hate to use that phrase Laughing).

Yeah GSP could have 3 or 4 credible challengers back to back with some guys looking like they are on their way to being a title contender. GSP is busy, Anderson needs to grow a paid and go after Bones. If he wants GSP I think he needs to come down to 170. GSP is 190lbs, not even a massive Ww. His coaches say he could make Lw and I believe it.

Im more of an Anderson fan because he is far better to watch but id hope for GSP if it went ahead because I almost see Anderson as a bullyboy going after a much smaller man insted of the champ in a devision he is fighting in next.

170 is a crazy stacked division, there still quite a few good 170 lbers that are outside of the UFC's stacked rosta as well,Askren,Daley,Lima,Marquardt,Woodley etc.

It's the only division where you can try and make a top 20 and you'd still end up having to leave out some quality fighters.
