Nate Diaz and Gomi the most overlooked fight on here Takanori-Gomi-Vs.-Nick-Diaz

Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn really seemed to split opion, What are peoples thoughts on Gomi vs Nate?

Its a fight thats not really talked about and Nate and Gomi are two of the most overlooked fighters at Lw.

Nate at 155 is a killer, you think about how he fared against the other contenders and he took a SD loss to both Guida and Maynard and beat Guilard (The ony guy to do so in his last 9 fights)

Since winning TUF half his fights have been Sub or fight of the night and I dont think that being an exciting fighter goes unnoticed, seeing how the opposite has worked against Fitch. Laughing

Gomi has sliped a bit with age and has slowed a bit, I think the Bombs dont find a home like they used to, Up to the Nick Diaz fight he was 24-3, after it he has lost half his fights.

Gomi has been finished by the 2 high level guys he fought recently in Guida and Florian but showed the damage he can do with those hands against Tyson Griffin.

Im swaying towards Diaz and I see him as a slight favorite coming in. Gomi's way to win is pretty obvious to land on Diaz' chin and put him to sleep. But Nate is tough as nails, he is very hard to put away, be it KO or Sub, Gomi on the other hand has been subbed a few times and I think if he Knocks Diaz down and tried to follow up like Guilard he could be in big trouble.

    Diaz 3rd round Sub.

I reckon we see the Diaz brothers both pick up a win against the 2 greatest Lw, anyone agree?

It say Nate vs Gomi and Nick vs BJ both could be fight of the year candidates, style wise all are guys who aim to finish fights. Cant wait for both.

Other fights im really intrested in but no one seems to be talking about are....

    1. Guillard - Lauzon: These 2 are absolute finishers and starts off at 100 MPH. Cant wait for this one.

    2. Pettis - Stephens

    3. Cerrone - Siver

How great is the UFC LW division right now? Thats not including Bendo - Guida aswell!!

I'll be honest I think Gomi will stop Nate, Nate is no Nick.

Cant wait for those too Red. I hope whoever wins the Maynard vs Edgar fight comes out healthy and defends the belt ASAP.

    Diaz/Gomi winner - September
    J-Lau/Guillard winner - october
    Pettis/Stevenson winner - october
    Siver/Cerrone winner - october

Bendo/Guida winner - November - Gets next shot.

Thats a massive Backlog of fights seeing as the Bendo/Guida winner probabally isnt good to go till say March.

I suppose by then the winners of the 4 above fights can have fought each other making 2 more legit chalengers... to add to the backlog by early Next year Melendez will be ready to fight and by all rights should walk right into a title fight.

Lw could do with having 2 belts at this rate! Laughing

Cerrone Sub 3rd - Siver is a close fight for him standing given that he hits much harder, Cerrone will probabally want to take this one down, he is a good big bigger so I reckon he will be able to do that, I see an Armbar or RNC finish.

Petis UD, think he is a bit more rounded fit and athletic, reckon it will be a fight of the year contender as well... a lot of these 155 fights could be FOTY contenders I reckon.

In thinking Guilard is getting choked out, Sub defence is his biggest weakness and J-Lau or Nosferatu as I call him has pretty damn good subs. His boxing has got a lot better as well, ive seen him drop fighters more recently... I dont reckon he can Hang with Guilard on the feet but I could see Guilard getting triangled trying to GnP him... im going for the upset J-Lau Sub 2nd

I reckon Bendo vs Guida goes the distance. Guida is getting to be a 1 trick pony now and really has changed his style. It really depends if his wrestling is good enough to dryhump Bendo for the full 15mins, Im backing Bendo to win because he is more rounded and can Mix in kicks on the feet and keep his distance as well as his own grappling probabally matches Guidas if not surpasses it. Bendo UD
