MMA fighters good enough for K1? Empty MMA fighters good enough for K1?

Post  pinsman Thu Dec 09, 2010 6:22 pm

Just watched the sparring session in the videos thread of Shogun and JDS... Just thought i'd put the question out there as I love K1, are there any fighters in MMA that you feel could fight at the highest levels of K1? Obvioussly Overeem is doing quite well there, but I think both Shogun and JDS could do a good job fighting under K1 rules... your thoughts!?

Fabio Maldonado is 22-0 (21KO) in boxing but the heavy weight scene in Brazil doesn't seem to be of the highest
    quality.

Jose Aldo at K1 Max. BJ Penn at K1 Max

Machida has the ability, Shogun has the ability, Cung Le has the ability but maybe not the chin. Paul Daley as well perhaps.

Rampage would get mullered by leg kicks! I was going to suggest Daley.

Paul is a really bad size for K1 but yeah, if there was a division to suit him he'd do well.

Does anyone know what time the K1 starts? And can anyone recommend a site to stream it from?

in fairness though his last 2 fights were really easy for him.

Saki went into it with a broken arm and hand, and still knocked Alistair down, but all it took to beat Saki was one kick in the body/arm.

Ben noted on chatbox that Aerts looked like he was already rocked as he was walking to the ring!!! Laughing

not taking anything away from Overeem though he is a well deserved champ!!!

...this is always the case with GPs, just didnt think these were his best performances, he showed alot of holes in his defence.

there are certainly alot of men to challenge him, Schilt and Saki ...not to mention a Hari rubber match which is a mouth watering prospect.
