Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
judging by griffins last preformance i would say that tito will kill him. during griffins last fight with silva iv never seen a worse preformance he never looked menacing at all as if he was pulling his shots of something.

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
True TK but I think AS has that effect on fighters in that he's won the fight before the bell, Griffen is a good lad and will come back ok I hope, was it not their first fight that Tito won a contraversial decision? I have a goldfish memory but that rings a bell, perhaps one of the resident MMA encyclopedias could confirm that

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
he did win a funny split decision. going off subject i dont know why cote never got a rematch with silva? iv always liked tito but i always got the feeling in his last 3 fights the ufc were trying to make him look stupid, so did dana suck up to him and bring him back. im just dissapointed hes not fighting coleman cos i think that would have been a good fight.

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
I think Cote has been injured - did he not do his cruciate ligament in his fight with AS? I would have liked to see Tito v Coleman too but Coleman is injured and I really do think(even though I said something similar pre Bonnar v Coleman fight) that Tito has too much for an ageing Coleman(unfortunately - who doesn't want to see Tito take a beatin )

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
And the UFC didn't want to waste one of Anderson Silva's last contracted fights on a completely irrelevant fight. Cote had no right to be fighting Anderson Silva for a middle weight title. At the time, the UFC had run a little dry on who Anderson should have been fighting so any old fighter seemed to get a shot at the title whilst now they're spoilt for choice, Henderson, Belfort and Marquardt should all be having seperate shots at him especially Marquardt who looks like he's come on leaps and bounds since his loss to the Spider.

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
good fight bit of a do or die for both cant see the ufc cutting forrest but he needs to start winning again and tito would be perfect as hes a very big name tito needs it just as much as his first fight back and if he has any thoughts of getting back to the top he will need to beat forrest and convincinly anyway i see tito winning this by mixing striking with takedowns and working good ground and pound but i see forrest using his jab and kicks to score some good points but see tito grinding out another decision against him

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
I think the 1st fight was very close. I would say Forrest would have won the rematch before the Silva performance but Griffins chin is becoming a real factor in his fights. If Tito has confidence in his new boxing skills I believe he will press the fight against a gun shy Forrest and take him down and pound him out. If Titos Boxing isnt improved of if like the Machida fight he is hesitant to press the figth Forrest might pick him apart. But I think Tito to win via GnP

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
There are some interesting parallels between Coleman's career and Tito's of late. Much like Coleman, Tito has fought sparingly over the past few years, but the guys he has faced have been some of the best. His wins over Ken Shamrock are pretty much worthless though, so overall it's really hard to judge how much he's got left, given that he's either lost to elite fighters or beat up on a completely shot fighter.
You can also make the argument that his last dominant win against a light heavyweight was over Matyushenko in 2001.
I think given the closeness of the first fight between Forrest and Tito, I'd favour Forrest on the basis that he's improved more of the two, and he's at least more of a known quantity. Although, the benefit of Tito not fighting often over the past few years could be that he's aged comparatively well and is much the same fighter he's always been.

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
Good afternoon gentlemen, liking the site, glad i joined....
I'm a huge Tito fan and i cant wait for this fight, yeah the last one was close but it was the 10-8 first round that sealed it and if you watch the fight with the volume down (so you cant here Bonnar swinging off Forrests nuts) then you will see that Tito one it, it was close, but he won it....
If Tito comes in to this fight without too many injuries then Forrest is in trouble
And hasnt Tito been training with Freddie Roach?

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
I don't fancy making predictions now, considering the circumstances of both fighters, but this has "great fight" written all over it!
Hope it lives up to the expectation
Oh what the hell, Tito via GnP, round 3.

I would rather see the Hammer put a beating on Tito to be honest, putting good old fashioned beat-downs on guys int really Forrest's style. I see Tito boring UD.

If there's one thing Tito has that Coleman doesn't it's a gastank.
Coleman would get wrecked by Tito via Coleman gassing ala shogun fight and Tito pounding him out.
Tito is gonna wreck Forrest

Re: Tito Ortiz V Forrest Griffen II
He does have a point about the gas tank. However, the other thing Tito will have is a lot of rust. You don't take that long off and come back at your best. I think it will take Tito at least 2 fights to get back to his best level and get his cardio all the way back.
