really...how big is Rumble Johnson?

just browsing sherdog and came across a big fat guy who posted pictures of himself with a bunch of fighters at the fan expo in Boston.

how does he do it?

He could fight at Lhw no problems and not be undersized. Crazy those photos shocked me, he is massive! He will be at 185lbs next which will be better for him because the massive cut was clearly taking its toll on his body.

Also Frank Trigg is a legend for wearing an Ireland top!

His arms are fucking massive!!! He's never making 170 again IMO. Alves is a HUGE 170er and i've stood next to him, and i've stood next to Cote and they are similar enough in size. Rumble is ridiculously bigger than Alves going by those pics.

Thats crazy,surely his body can't keep up with that kind of cutting.

I don't think he has the character or balls to face guys his own size.

I think these huge weight cutters,fear facing guys there own size and only want to get in a ring with people that they have a clear size and power advantage over,then when they don't make weight aswell,well that pisses me off even more.
I don't like Kos,but I was happy as fuck when he gave Rumble a beating after watching Rumble come in against Yoshida the fight before.

Alves cuts because he's short and has short arms.

Rumble is just a coward.

Rumble is clearly a massive guy, too massive for WW but as has been mentioned doesn't have the bottle to step up to an even playing field.

Alves isn't very tall or have a good reach but he still needs to lose some muscle to come in at weight,otherwise it's the same thing,if you can't make the weight after a full training camp,then you shouldn't be fighting in that division.
He had zero excuses to be over weight for his last fight(especially after all his claims he was going to make weight easily in the build up,even though his training partners were taking the piss out of his weight) or his fight with Hughes,They were the two most important fights in his career outside the GSP fight and he couldn't make weight for either.

There are other MW's at around 5'9,who fight at MW,because they struggle to make weight at WW,Palhares is only about 5'8,Cung le,Radich,Cyborg,all are no bigger than 5'10,being short is not an excuse to why he has to fight at WW.
It's his prefered division because he is one of the biggest but if he can't make weight he should be told to fight at MW.
The only reason he wouldn't want to fight at MW,comes down to,he obviously doesn't think he can be successful being one of the smallest at MW.(which I'd 100% agree with)

its amazing the weight cutting, i still cannot get over the weight of james toney for being a short arse at 5ft 9. id like rumble to try cutting back to 170 lbs and get schooled by gsp bet he sharp changes weight division.

Thats a fucking joke, lol. Even Tito looks quite small compared to that guy and he is alwyays considered one of the biggest LHWs around. The only guy who looks his size is Tosswell and we all know how fat he is. Even Duffee who im sure is some reincarnated greek god is quite a bit smaller than that dude, while Johnson doesn't look all that small compared to him.

Coté who is a biggish MW and former 205 competitor is absolutely dwarfed. The thing with Johnson is that he is full of muscle, he is atleast 185. Its not like with Nelson who could probably be 205 without the gut.

Im not sure if he is a corward, because 170 is a lot more stacked than MW, but he just needs to stick to 185, I think he can be a much better fighter. Really he should fight at 205 but 185 is fine and he won't kill himself with the weight cut. How many 185 fighters are there that are bigger than him? Maybe Sonnen?

I don't normally mind guys who cut a lot of weight if they can do it, but Johnson can't and he is just cutting insane weights. It would be like Griffin cutting to MW.

As for Alves, he has a good reason not to move up to 185. Some guys would undersize him, imagine Sonnen vs Alves or Silva vs Alves.

Sonnen? Average sized MW. Never EVER weighs more than 195. Nate the average is bigger than Sonnen. He's prob about Johnson's size.

Funny considering he has fought at 205 before when he was a lot younger. Nate is massive and Sonnen was around his weight. Keeping his weight down means nothing at all. Nelson weighs more than Kongo. I know which one is bigger.

Nelson is fat, awful attempt at a comparison.

Nate is much bigger than Chael who has ONE career fight at LHW and only moved up because it was the condition of which he got a UFC contract.
