Butterbean on Pudz
“I didn’t actually rip him. You know how publicists can kind of blow things out of proportion. With Moosin – I’m a partner with Moosin and there’s five of us – my feeling is that he’s not up to par to fight on our Chicago card. They want to use him because he’s from Poland and Chicago has a big Polish community, but there are other Polish fighters we could use and not have to pay Pudzianowski-style money, since he’s just not up to par for a main event type fight. He’s just not there. He can’t even throw a punch. He throws all arm punches and, yeah, he’s a big strong guy, but he’s not throwing with power.”
“It kind of bugs me. I don’t know if you’ve watched him fight, but he’s just not that good. I’m not trying to bash him, just being honest. I don’t know why they released it, but they asked me and I told them how I felt. He needs to learn how to throw a punch that’s going to knock somebody out, not make them look at him and laugh.”
On the chance of seeing the Polish strongman take on “Kimbo Slice” down the road, Esch said:
“I don’t think that will happen. I’m trying to get somebody other than Pudzianowski, to be honest with you. He’s not the caliber of fighter we need headlining our fight. He’s tough, he’s strong. You can’t argue with that, what with him being the five-time World’s Strongest Man. But he can’t throw a punch. The only way I’d be comfortable with it is if he actually got a serious boxing trainer.”
“He kicks phenomenal. That’s how he broke his foot against Tim Sylvia. He kicks good. His ground game? He can survive. But without some stand-up, I don’t want to see him fight. I don’t feel Moosin needs to promote somebody who’s not exciting to watch.”
Finally, when asked whether he’d like to fight him himself he said:
“Me? I’d love to fight him, but I haven’t heard anything on it. Nobody’s mentioned that to me yet. I’d knock Pudzianowski out. After Tim fought him he looked at me and said, ‘You really want to fight him now, don’t you?’ And yeah, I’d love to fight him. But there’s been nothing about that. I’d knock him out and I don’t think they’d let me fight Pudzianowski. I’ve watched tape on him since we’re promoting him, and standing there with him would be the least of my concerns. I’d knock him out. I don’t know why Tim couldn’t knock him out.”

So Lashley needs an opponent and I hear Overeem has a Brother who might take the fight! I can see V.Overeem fighting Lashley. Its an Ideal opponent.

Chad Griggs 8-1 is lashleys next opponent, he hasnt fought anyone of note but has finished all his fights inside the distance though he is a small heavy at 235lbs...
Not much of a step up for Lashley, Guess they felt he wasnt even ready for V.Overeem.

Re: MMA Calendar
Fuck Soko vs Houston is great matchmaking! Houston is great to watch... Bar the Kimbo fight. I was so so disapointed in that one, Soko for a guy who used to be a strictly front foot fighter was very hesetint... after 2 of their most timid performances heres hoping they come out all guns blazing!! Is it Lhw or Hw do you know?
Patrick Cote meets Tom Lawlor at UFC 121 at UFC 121... Expect to see Cote back on form and punching a hole in Lawlor. I think Cote has always been good enough to crack the top 10 again. I dont know if Lawlor is though he is a good fighter to watch so expecting a good one there.
P.Thiago vs Deigo will be great as well... though what is Deigo thinking being 170lbs, He made 155lbs and kept up a wreckless pace against BJ, Id think he could beat Kflo or other top 155ers, Edgar included. I could see him as champ at 155 but I think being a Ww he is more of a middle of the road guy.

Re: MMA Calendar
Top to bottom not a dull fight so far! Id say its looking like a favorite for card of the year for sure! Wish a UK Tv channel would pick up WEC, or that UFC would start replacing crap big fighters with the better lighter ones!
Also heard talk the WEC will bring in a 125lbs bevision and move the Lw's to UFC soon.

Joe Silva?? He couldn't come up with a card like this if he tried!! Sean Shelby is the WEC matchmaker. He should be the UFC's as well. But Silva is Dana's boy.

Oh didn't know that. Guy does a great job no doubt. Would love to see the WEC LW's lock horns with the UFC's. Would also love to see Jose Aldo move up, how good would a Bj Penn vs Jose Aldo fight be? Can only imagine.

Lesnar vs Carwin, Sanchez vs Thiago and Taylor vs Stout are the only fights that would interest me on that card to be honest.

Re: MMA Calendar
Id love Matt Hamill to batter Tito...
I think if Penn turned up in the form he did for Edgar he would get beaten from pillar to post by Aldo, Aldo is a MUCH better fighter than Edgar and no smaller than Edgar and Frankie managed to win a couple of rounds against BJ
Also DREAM 16 poster....
Minowa, Kid and Sakuraba ! Woohoo!

Re: MMA Calendar
Cheers for the updates to 121 mate Jon Madsen seriously is hanging on the his UFC contract by the scruff of its neck Ive thought he would losse every fight he has been in so far in the UFC! But he hands in and gets the job done (not exactly in thrilling fashion!) Still be funny if he did What Russo did, just absorbed a bit of beating till Duffee gasses and spark him!
