Makes a change- I remember when EA's FIFA games always had every player, club, league, correct jerseys, everything

ISS Pro which became Pro Evolution usent to have the licence for players names so they made up names or misspelt them-I always felt ISS Pro/Pro Evo was a much better game, much more realistic to the sport of football

I enjoyed the UFC game a lot-I only rented it out for a week. I could see a few limitations that would hinder the longevity of the game but in saying that I was very impressed.

A computer game rarely does enough to warrant a second of my time anymore-but I thoroughly enjoyed UFC Undisputed. I think the nature of MMA is extremey well suited to computer games-the fact that its not just striking, or not just grappling, not just standing-there is huge potential for MMA video games.


UFC Undisputed was limited in some aspects as you rightly point out Ben, hopefully EA can improve on these -The competition between the 2 games should result in constant improvements in future titles of both EA and THQ (I think that's who make Undisputed)

Yeah a bit of Pro Evo vs Fifa style competition... EA arent doing too bad with Stars, Bas Rutten and Cung Le are nice supprises. All then need to do it animate peoples styles propperly, Ie in UFC Machida and Shogun fough exactly the same. EA should motion capture stars were possible, Animate Bas' Liver shot. Animante Cungs Side kicks etc..

They are putting the same times into it as fight night as they are alternating them every year so I have a lot of hope for it. Im the type of person who only really plays 1 game at a time, At the min its fight night but I think EA MMA will be the next game I get...

Got be honest i think FNR4 is overrated beyond belief and is very flawed after time it gets very dull same can be said for UFC 2009 (not the overrated part) i don't see this being any good as EA tend to be very flashy with no substance.

I think the UFC game is pretty good for a first attempt. I can't wait until they bring out the new edition and have updated fighters and styles and ironed out the mistakes. Dana White has said that he wants it to be a continual thing. They need to make the menu and non fight stuff better as well. I think that the UFC games will be around longer than any series that EA bring out.

George I think FNR4 has more lastibility, I like the way you can ajust the whole game, BSlowing the speed and making the counter window longer makes the game better, also its cool having boxers as DLC (Vitali,Wlad,Oscar,YOung Tony, Old Foreman) as well as being able to edit boxers who are in the game.

UFC's striking is very basic even the way you cant lean back or forward you just have to stand upfight and trade identical punches, In FNR4 the punches can come from 100s of different angles. The groundgame is also terrible in UFC, if its on hard mode no matter how fast you bash the buttons the computer will tap you, Bashing buttons isnt fun in the 1st place I feel but the fact you could be Nog and not be able to tap someone its a bit stupid, Insted you win 9/10 times by a poorly animated KO...

There is so much improvment needed for UFC 2009, I think EA MMA will be more playable and more indepth that UFC 2009. The 1st think tha strick me was the 3 striking styles, No Arlovski headkick or flying knee, Guys like Jardine and Machida haivng the exact same style were in reality they are miles apart in styles.. very poor show from THQ looks like they really rushed the game. They need to put more time into making fighers unique and as I said things like Punches in a single collar tie have worse animation that Tekken 1!!! Its a bit outdated in many ways I think.

Forrest Griffins inability to jab, chucks overhand right and anderson Silvas messed up high kick are about the only unique things about undisputed, hopefully with a bigger roster and a good created fighter mode this could be better than undisputed.
It will be a task to get Cung Le's style down though!

I think the UFC game could and should be a lot better, its ok for a first time thing but it could be made a lot better. Not just the fighting techniques but especially the Story mode. There should be a TUF mode (coach and contestant) and you should be able to use a UFC fighter in the Career mode. They should include legends as well, guys like Pulver, Gracie even old Shammy. I was reasonably happily with FN but those controls won't work for a MMA game. Im interested in this new game, but I have to see whats it like before I buy it so il try it out with a friend. IMO, EA made a mistake buy not agreeing to help the UFC, Dana went to them and they laughed in his face, they said something like MMA is not a sport. Now they see the money in it so they go for it, doubt its going to be very successful because the lack of draws in the game. Nearly everyone knows guys Liddell and Lesner, so average people find it fun. Some of my freinds, who aren't particulary huge MMA fans love the UFC game, ofcoarse I easily beat them when I play them but they do enjoy it. I doubt they will be attracted to an MMA game without Lesner. Its not right but thats how it is, and thats the general thinking of people.

I still think the UFC game needs big improvements, they should be working on it right now. They should just completely expand it, but hey. Look at the WWE games nowadays, they started of slow and now they are extremly successful, Ihope the UFC games are as well.

I'm just amazed that Dana is allowing Randy to be part of this game!

definetely getting only played the ufc game a week before bringing it back got bored with it on the other hand i loved FNR4

I reckon THQ should be able to sort out some of the problems of the first game in the follow up (are they doing one?), and seeing as it should be released just after EA's effort, I think i'll wait and gage peoples opinions before buying either.

Another Roster update for all my fellow geeks! King Mo been added to the game... not a bad roster so far, Id like to see Filho, Overeem and Arona added as well.

Anyone got any idea when this game is due to be released?

I hope they include a feature to download other people's created fighters like Fight Night Round 4 has. Since I got FN4 I've barely played the UFC game, although lately my brother has been battering me at both...

Moose Im the same mate FRN4 is 10X the game UFC is. I got the DLC and it was worth it for £4 quid or whatever they charged. If your on Xbox 360 and know how to add people as a friend or whatever add me n well have a scrap sometime! Shame theres no Joe Louis, Evander Holyfield, Sonny Liston and Rocky Marciano at heavyweight and guys Like Floyd Mayweather, Marquez and Antonio"hands of Plaster" Margarito!!

Anywau EA MMA should be the best game going if its an MMA game done to the same strandard as Fight night, which it should be as they are alternating the games yearly and putting the same effort into both (I bet Lashley will get in the game as his name would attract a lof of Wrestling fans to it) No release date just 2010. Id guess the start of the year as there is a working demo that Mayhem and King Mo were playing. Cant wait to play it. Bas Rutten vs Fedor!!
