“CBS would be out of their mind to put that rinky-dink [Strikeforce] . . . on the air again . . . and without that backing, [promoters] won't have the money to pay [Emelianenko]. …The guy just got his face smashed in by Brett Rogers. Do you know what Brock or Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez would do to Brett Rogers? It's time to bring this guy [Fedor] in, to see Brock Lesnar smash his head.”

Sounds like Dana is back in Fedor bashing mode after a brief hiatus.

Its only clever if Fedor bites, he is just goading him, knowin full well that Fedor and his gang will realise that for many mma only exists within the UFC, so it depends whether Fedor cares about his legacy to the less well informed

Re: Dana White on Fedor v Rogers
Dana White is a muppet.
First of all, rinkydink?? 3.67 million people tuned in to watch the event BEFORE the main event. Main Event figures are expected to be 4.5 million plus!!! Now, bear in mind, Shamrock-Ortiz on free tv did like 6 million but that was the biggest name in the sport(Tito) against a legend who had a pro-wrestling fanbase and that was a UFC show! This is a Russian bloke fighting for a company a lot of people haven't heard of! CBS and SHOWTIME are delighted with those figures! Dana's poor attempt at competing by showing a couple of re-runs got smashed to pieces.
Secondly, Fedor got his face smashed in?? Did he? He got his nose broken from a jab but he did all the damage.
Thirdly, Rogers would knock Mir unconscious in about 25 seconds.

Kongo is a better striker than Rogers, do you guys think he will knock Mir out at 107?

Maybe. but Rogers is an ogre, good td defense, good defensive ground game, and is an intelligent fighter, Kongo has none of those. And less KO power in his hands. but technially much better.
of course Mir's camp are always talking about his striking, if he stands he will probably get KOd, if he turns his brain on it will be Mir/Hardonk 2.

What Chesty said.
Kongo has better technique but Rogers has more power.
If Mir gets cocky and tries to stand with Kongo, then yes, i think Kongo will knock him out.

Turns out the Main Event did 5.46 making it the second most viewed fight in North American history after Kimbo-Thompson! Tito vs Ken did 5.3million not 6million as i had previously thought..

Fedor's camp are now reporting that his nose was not broken in the fight and that the cut that opened was one caused weeks before in sparring by his brother Aleks!
So it turns out, Rogers did less than was initially thought!

Re: Dana White on Fedor v Rogers
Rogers would smash Kongo!! I think Kongo is hugely overhyped! Rogers isnt a trechnical but is a lot bigger, is tough as hell and hits really hard! Rogers 1st round KO if it happened. I give rogers a lot of credit for surviving a round with Fedor because he got Rocked and has on the ground with Fedor and Hung in...
Dana talks some shit... im in 2 minds about him but its generally the Fedor bashing that turns me agaisnt him. Funny Anfield I think Mir would get KO'd by Rogers... I also think Cain would have his hands full with Rogers, Lesnar could get clipped by Rogers too, I dont think Lesnar would do that well agaisnt Rogers. People think he would GnP him silly but I dont know Rogers TD defence is good, and his groundgame isnt as shite as Kongos say!!
Dana should stop running his mouth, Fedor is 10X the figher anyone in the UFC is, Mahchida, Shogun, GSP, Anderson. None of them stack up to Fedor who is officially undefeated in 27... Anderson in 11, Machida in 16, GSP in 6!!! Why the Fuck does he not just admit Fedor is the man and he would love to have him under lock and key with a UFC contract... Wait till you read this from Fedor Twitter
“The UFC contacted us again....”
UFC contacted Fedor after the fight... Why run your mouth about him and then offer him another contract or get in touch with him? does he think keeping insulting Fedor is the best way to sign him?? Strange move.
Even Bruce Buffer felt the need to share his opinion...
“The UFC doesn't need Fedor, Fedor needs the UFC”
HAHAHAHAHA Bruce Buffer doesnt know his areshole from his earhole... what give him the right to chime in on this? Anyway he is a shite anouncer and generally gets fast forwarded if I have it recorded.
This Whole Fedor situation annoys me, What doesnt help is that MMA websites suck UFC's dick. Most rank Fedor 3rd p4p despite a winning streak longer than the 2 guys above him combined and more champs on his CV.... Sherdog etc. need to recognise Fedor for what he is and maby Dana would look stupid argueing with a universal opinion of Fedor being the best now and the best of all time.

You've got to take most of what Dana says with a pinch of salt, I reckon he probably doesn't believe half the shit he spews. As he's the UFC's president it's mostly UFC propoganda so he's just doing his job, in a roundabout arsehole way. If Fedor ever did sign for them watch how quickly he'd change his tune.

Re: Dana White on Fedor v Rogers
Jesus that is crazy they are off to a flying start now! Kimbo really is crazily popular you can see why UFC would use Kimbo even if it slightly damages their Credibility as the premier league of MMA... Is Kimbo even top 50?
Anyway a bit off topic but I was on the Sun there and realised under the sports section its now "UFC and MMA" not just an "UFC" section! Small win over the monolopy of UFC go on the Sun!
Chesty Im thinking about it and that could be a typical MMAbay story... I really cant see Fedor using Twitter... or Typing in ENGLISH!!! I dont even know what Twitter is, Ive never even seen it on the internet or dont know anyone who uses it!!

Re: Dana White on Fedor v Rogers
Haha UFC look bad now, The public face of the company running his mouth about Fedor while behind closed doors trying to sign him.
If Strikeforce get Hendo they have some serious star power, I think UFC doesnt need to loose any more big names, from those stats it shows what a big name Hendo is, Gina, Hendo, Fedor, Lawler, Smith, Shields etc.. are all some of the biggest drawing names... Now they could have Arlovski (Another one of the big drawing names)
Seriously shocked that Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock wasnt on that list! That was a classic and a HUGE fight!!
What about if Rampage? Any Chance of him going to Strikeforce? He should have a go at being a Heavyweight I think with his Boxing he could really give it a go against anyone not called Fedor, I think the Likes of Rogers or Bigfoot would have trouble with Ramapge on the Feet and he may be powerfull enough to deal with Werdum if he bulked up a bit? Ramapge vs Arlovski at heavy, That would be good. Then again it would probabally be easier for him to go after Mousasi but UFC is were all the Lhw's are.

That's the same list i was looking at before. Apparently those are incorrect. Bisping vs Hamill did terrible business and viewers though. There's no way it drew that many watchers.
And as mentioned, Cung Le vs Shamrock did massive numbers, so i'm paying no attention to that list.
Hammill vs Petruzelli?? Please!

Re: Dana White on Fedor v Rogers
What a prick that man is. If you dont want to promote your rival organisation and their best fighter, DO NOT MENTION THEM. UFC is the biggest MMA organization in the world as well as the most watched. If the casual UFC fan never hears about fedor or strikeforce, they wont be able to watch them.
Sorry for using a Pro wrestling analogy, but this is like when WCW sent Bill Goldberg onto a TV talkshow to ask Stonecold Steve Austin for a fight. It Gave WWF and Austin publicity in a ratings war WCW were already winning anyway, and made Goldberg look like the lesser star as he was doing the chasing.
