Pettis wants Lauzon before the end of the year

He wants Lauzon before the end of the year! Great call, With the UFC 141 card only having a few fights so far this would be great to see. I hope the askren training wouldnt mean he will want to wrestle Lauzon but I dont see him doubting his standup against him like he did with Stevens.

Also said his dream fight is edgar! Hope we see that down the line, I dont think frankie would get away with in and out strikes against someone with so good Kicks.

Him vs Lauzon is a good fight, i think he'll beat Joe.

I'd back him over Edgar as well. I think he'd beat anyone currently in the UFC, other than Ben Henderson. I watched back his fight with Hendo recently and I think Hendo beat him the first time around.

They fight again, Pettis will beat him. If MMA was scored properly he would have beaten him the last time. Guida was given the win for having a religious moment while Pettis was busy trying to actually win the fight off his back.

I agree Anfield, Judges lack of BJJ knowledge drives me crazy, Guida may have been on top but he was in constant danger of getting subbed, sadly in UFC you cant win a fight off your back. My brother had the Idea of just scoring fighters for techniques. Say a TD gets a point, a clean punch gets a point, a Sub gets a point and the likes. Rewarding each technique used as oppose to just saying the guy on top is winning and has been for the 3 mins he has been on top.... I reckon its a great idea.

Yeah, something like the way amateur boxing is scored. Half points for attempted subs, attempting to advance position, sweeps, and the like.

Anything would be better than the shit system they have now.

I agree about Pettis vs Guida, he should have won. However Pettis still has a few holes in his game that he needs to fix, Lauzon is a good fight for him.

Would love Lauzon to beat him, but can't really see it to be honest.

Although, I didn't see him beating Guillard, i will never rule him out again.

Yeah but you have to take into account that Guillard beat himself as much as anything by not taking the fight seriously.

I think wrestling was his biggest hole. He's working on that with Askren and considering his age and incredible talent levels and physical abilities, he could become a very strong wrestler. Not an elite wrestler but certainly a second tier wrestler ala GSP. He doesn't have his explosiveness although that can be developed, but he has better striking to set up the takedowns.
