Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans recently appeared on ESPN 2 and ESPN.com's MMA Live where he discussed with host Jon Anik the possibility of having to fight training partner and friend Jon "Bones" Jones should Jones defeat current champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 128:
Evans: "Jones expressed last night in an interview that he would fight me for the title you know and so I guess if..."
Anik: "I guess you gotta fight him."
Evans: "I mean, I mean I'm a punk so..."
Evans is currently not set to face anyone since suffering his knee injury. There was a brief rumour about a rematch with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson but that fight was rejected by UFC President Dana White.

It's about time that Rashad manned up, the fact he decided to sit out on the sidelines for a year rather than fight put him down in my estimations, he got what he deserved when he got injured. I'm still not sure if he would actually fight Jones. With Jackson's camp being like it is where everybody seems to refuse to fight each other then it won't suprise me if Rashad actually refuses to fight Jones. He did say that he doesn't want to go down to 185, he would be too small at Heavyweight and he pretty much said that Dana hates him at the moment, so the only option for him really is to stay at Light Heavyweight. This all does lie on whether or not Jones beats Shogun in their match at UFC 128.
