    I was checking through Wikipedia for lists of all UFC and Pride tournament winners and found out that in 2006 Every champion from Lw to Heavyweight was American!

    Lw: BJ Penn
    Ww: Matt Hughes
    Mw: Rich Franklin
    Lhw: Chuck Liddell
    Hw: Tim Sylvia

    (Hughes and Franklin would go on to loose their titles later than year)

    Has there ever been a time when all titles where close to being held by Brazil? Even across Pride and UFC? Now there are 2 more Major weight classes in MMA 135lbs and 145lbs who do people see as Brazil/USA's best chances of holding titles at all weights?

    Are Brazil getting more dominant that the US in MMA? Looking at the history of title holders there is a much higher percentage of Brazilians holding belts compared to say 5 years ago when it was mainly Americans.

    So right now we have

    UFC/WEC Strikeforce/Dream/SRC

    Lesnar (USA) Overeem (Holland)
    Shogun (Brazil) Feijao (Brazil)
    Anderson (Brazil) Jacare (Brazil)
    GSP (Cananda) Diaz (USA)
    Edgar (USA) Melendez (USA)
    Aldo (Brazil) Marlon Sandro (Brazil)
    Cruz (USA) *Bibiano Fernandes (Brazil)

    *Dream only have Fw and the limit is 139lbs

    Also interesting in when you look at the next challengers for each belt;

    Lesnar - Velasquez (USA)

    Shogun - Evans (USA)

    Silva - Belfort (Brazil)

    GSP - Canada (USA)

    Edgar - Maynard (USA)

    Not another country getting a chance in their soon, seems to be all USA vs Brazil. Even if you look at the contenders after those already mentioned;

    - dos Santos (Brazil), Nelson (USA), Mir (USA), Carwin (USA)

    - Machida (Brazil), Rampage (USA), Jones (USA), Bader (USA), Nogueira (Brazil)

    - Marquardt (USA), Okami (Japan), Sonnen (USA)

    - Fitch (USA), Alves (Brazil), Hardy (UK), Hughes (USA)

    - Sherk (USA), Dunham (USA), Penn (USA), Florian (USA)

    The odd Brit or Jap excused, its ALL America vs. Brazil.

    Guessing you mean GSP - Kos (USA) unless the USA has bought Canada and turned it against GSP! Haha!

    Don't forget Sonnen should be facing Silva which would give America all the challengers.

    For fuck sake. You know what, i read that through about 20 times before i finally sent it.. i KNEW i'd made a mistake somewhere! Mad Mad

    But yeah, throw Sonnen in and America have all the challengers as well, something about them and Brazil that keeps churning out great combatants, any thoughts what it is?
