If SF could manage to co promote or get fighters that arent tied down to one organisation with a contract they could have easily done a great Mw tournament. Cung Le wont do it and Hendo and Babalu are looking to fight at 205 so understandabally its what stopped the tournament but I still think they could have organised a great co promoted tournament.

Theres more than double the guys they need, I understand guys like Lombard and Co-Promotion might not work and talking Saku or Minowa into a tournament in the states might not work but how did they not manage to find 8 guys to make a tournament even without Hendo, Le and Babalu!

A lot of those guys were at one point of their careers ranked highly. You could make a tournament with 8 Legit guys no problem!

Shame it never came off, there are so maby MMA fighers who are non exclusive contracts or who their links to Dream or M-1 could give them access to and Im supprised not to see them able to make a tournament,

It comes down to cost as well. The cost of getting Minowa and Saku might have proved too much. There's also time scale, being able to get all the fighters tied down for a period of time. Hard to get someone like Minowa to agree to potentially 3 fights in the US when he has all his obligations in Japan. Same with Saku who's sponsorship deals are insistent on his fighting in Japan every 6 months or so.
