Re: Mark Hunt
Mark Kerr? He'd win the UFC 14 and 15 heavyweight tournaments.

Re: Mark Hunt
haha leave the guy alone!!
Its hard to say, Hunt was like 2 different fighters, at one point of his career he won multiple K-1 Tournaments including the WGP (I think) and beat Crocop and Wanderlei Silva back to back in MMA, even when he lost he had a go a putting Fedor in a Kimura!!
Now he is getting Subbed by Overeem and Mousasi with easy, and has been KO'd by Manhoef, being KO'd by Manhoef happens and it doesnt sound like something out of the orninary because he hits harder than Carwin! But for Hunt who had the best chin going he seems to be going downhill quite fast.
I really hope he turns up ready to make a go of it because on form Hunt will be a handfull for any non ranked heavy, McSweeny, Russo, Duffee etc.. guys on that level will all get a hole punched in them.
I really hope he fights Barry though.

It would be entertaining to watch Hunt destroy McSweeney.

Re: Mark Hunt
Hunt did indeed win the K1 WGP in 2001, however he should never even have made the quarter-finals having lost twice and being allowed back in due to injuries. He lost to Hoost and was then allowed take CroCop's spot after he pulled out injured. Then he lost to Ray Sefo who had to pull out of the next round with an eye injury.
He did beat Le Banner by KO in the quarter final though which was a fair effort.

Re: Mark Hunt
if the Mark Hunt who fought Fedor was in the UFC, i think he would be amongst the top fighters.
however, if the Mark Hunt who fought....everyone Mark Hunt has fought SINCE Fedor shows up, he won't amount to much.

Re: Mark Hunt
Im not sure if Mark Hunt was ever that great. He beat Wanderlai but it was a very close fight and there was a massive weight difference.
The fight against Cro Cop was a strange one as Cro Cop clearly landed a lot more strikes but ran around the ring for most of the fight. I think Prides judges gave the decision to Hunt for Cro Cops lack of agression rather than anything Hunt did.
It's been all down hill for Hunt since

Hunt looked good against CC and Fedor but has really fallen apart after that. I dont think hes been taking his training too seriously

Re: Mark Hunt
“If I’d trained as hard as some of the guys out here, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here right now. I’d be at a different level of fighting. I just used up my time. I squandered it.”
“It’s been two or three years of bad training for me. Not my training partners, but how hard I trained. I’m looking to go overseas to train for the first time, to really get some good training partners. If I do things like I should do them, it shouldn’t matter who I’m facing, ever.”
“It is what it is now. I wish I could change the way I did things now, but I’m here for a reason. For me now, I know this is my last chance. I won a K-1 world title, then I fought MMA. I wanted to win, but I didn’t have that drive to be a champion. I feel like now, I really want to be an MMA champion.”
When asked about cutting down from the sizeable 290 pounds he normally walks around at, Hunt said:
“I never had to make weight before. I never gave a damn what I ate. I’ve already stopped eating KFC, chocolate, that stuff. I’ve got a personal trainer, never had one of them before. I’m not a big person, I’m only 5-foot-10 or something.”
Hunt is fighting Sean McCorkle 9-0 (4KO 4 Sub) 6"7 and has cut recently from 350lbs to 300lbs. I think he will be pushed making 265 by the shounds of it.
Hunt is a bit of a joke, its clear he was loosing cause he wasnt training at all.... I always said he couldnt make the weight because he couldnt stop eating crap! its true! He loves KFC! Legend!

Re: Mark Hunt
It was reported that Hunt still had some fights that he still had to fulfill on his contract after the UFC bought Pride out or something, and he's not been able to do them before now, because he couldn't make the 265 limit.(something along those lines anyway.)
I don't know how legit this is,but it was what Dana came out with when asked about it.

Re: Mark Hunt
Aha i didnt know contracts moved over during the takeover. Surely alot more guys would also be entitled to fights in UFC then?
You would think most pride fighters still had fights on their contract, when pride went under....

Re: Mark Hunt
Wow wouldnt have recognised him, Monson is a solid 250lbs so I guess he could be as low as 230-240... could that be possible?
His opponent is a monster though, he fought his whole career as a 300lbs+ super heavy. Really really hope Hunt wins.
