Probably the worst kept "secret" in MMA has been officially confirmed Real Entertainment has shut down and so has Dream, Although It was always obvious this would happen I'm still a little saddened by the news.

Not a bad idea that Ben but like Timmeh I imagine Arlovski is under lock & key with ONE FC.

Realistically I can only think of the likes Kongo, Russow and Hunt being the most likely.

Sergei is another option I suppose too.

Werdum has nothing lined up at the moment.

He would be the best replacement imo. Werdum v Comier could be a fantastic fight.

Comier would be unlikely to want to (or be able to) take Werdum down and do damage.

On the feet, I would give Comier an advantage boxingwise, though Barnett did hurt him with a couple of big knees, which is probably Werdums best asset standing. As well as his superior reach in this instance.

Much more interesting than Mir or Timmeh at least.

This weekends Strikeforce card had been cancelled.

Gilbert is injured and Showtime decided not to pick up the remainder of the card to broadcast. Man I'm gutted I was looking forward to seeing Gilbert knock 7 shades of Shit out of Pat Healy....Oh and some of the undercard fights such as Santiago v Mulhern & Thompson v Fodor looked good.

BTW this is all Jon Jones fault he has to take the blame for this, Domino effect and all that like.... Very Happy

Feel bad for these SF guys, they only get one or 2 fights a year and a card being cancelled really leaves them without pay in a lower league.... Time to call close doors at SF, its a waste of time, money and fighters careers.

I know what your saying Ben, But until the Showtime deals expires (I think it is in 2014) It not gonna happen. Want I want to see with Strikeforce is It to be used as a development type orgizination for the UFC kind of like the WEC was for the UFC, As well the Bushido shows were like in Pride or even the old WWE & OVW relationship.

Yep id be 100% happy with it being a development league, the only thing I hate is a select handfull of fighters who are clearly too good to be in a B league being stuck there with no fights... Who is Rockhold fighting next? Some guy ive never heard of...

If Gil wins his next one his next fight... maby a 4th Thompson fight.

Mousasi is sitting about scratching his arse etc..

    ----------------------

Fighters like Stephen "wonderboy" Thompson who were maby in the UFC too young would be Idea strikeforce guys, I think guys who need experience before their prime or figthers who want to continue who are on the slide would make a great promotion. No need to make Rockhold, Gil and Co waste their primes waiting on fights.

Even if these guys are stuck in SF, they really arent keeping them busy. Heres hoping they accept its a B league and use it properly or just close it.

Yeah it does seem a bit harsh after taking that fight on short notice,so soon after the Swick KO,but going 2-5 and being overweight twice in his last 7 fights,His cuts is not really that much of a surprise to me really.

If he goes on a run in the regional circuits and constantly makes weight there,he'll probably get another opportunity in the UFC.

I am not surprised at the cut because he isnt good enough, but he did take the fight on very short notice wheras he could have turned it down like many others have done and then been critised by Dana for doing but still be in the UFC.

Didnt Paul Kelly get cut after a FOTN?

The UFC seem to be on a mini clear out lately, making room for Eddie and some Strikeforce boys maybe

Could be mate, But I reckon It's probably more to do with influx of recent TUF fighters coming in or maybe It's just me hoping Strikeforce stay alive.

Novembers Strikeforce show has been cancelled. Sad

A joint statement from From Strikeforce and Showtime.

"Due to a series of injuries, we were forced to cancel the upcoming card on Nov. 3, but are already working to put together a stacked card in January. While we're disappointed with the cancellation, we are looking forward to an even bigger Strikeforce event on Showtime early next year."

Wow a new SF even in Janurary Rolling Eyes

Its like a sick old dog, do the right think Zuffa. Pay Showtime and shut this thing down! Serioulsy if they wont put the show on when 1 fighter is injured Zuffa should do the right thing by the fighters and try to buy them out of their current contract. Shotime arent getting much Value for money outta this surely?
