Anyone know how much he earns per fight? It can't be a huge amount and to be risking permanent brain damage, if he doesn't already have it, fighting and getting KO'd so regularly just isn't worth any amount of money.

i heard he was paid $20k for a fight...i think maybe last year?
either way it will probably be less now he has lost about half a dozen straight since then, and the act has become more obvious.

Payne I just watched that, brilliant! You know since they are looking a replacement for Vitor and all....

There is only a 3 year age difference between him and Wand and Wand has been through as many wars ring age wise.

In a UFC in Brazil this would go down a treat and surely everyone who thinks Wandy cant hang with the ranked guys any more could accept it as a passible fight.

Would make for a cool fight to offer a legend his chance at a revenge fight with Anderson all these years later. You know UFC loves to sell these bad blood angles!

I like that idea,that could be a really fun fight between two former old school Chute Boxe greats,who are today considered past their best days.

But Rich Franklin is stepping in for Vitor.

It would be good to see Pele on the card some where though,just to see what he has got left.

Fucking right mate! Wand to win UD!!! 1st fight was great, cant wait for the rematch, I think Wand is better adjusted to the weight cut now that he is leaner. Expect a close one but I think Wand will win.

Kos no doubt will be disapointed I know he wanted the fight.

UFC 147 now has a new five-round main event, as former middleweight champion Rich Franklin will face "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva in a 190-pound catchweight feature. The two first met at UFC 99 in Germany, where Franklin earned a decision win and both men took home Fight of the Night bonuses.

Silva was originally set to face fellow TUF Brasil coach Vitor Belfort in a rematch of their 1998 UFC Brazil bout, but a hand injury forced Belfort to withdraw from the event.

The co-main bout will feature heavyweight stand-outs Fabrício Werdum and Mike Russow, both coming off wins in their last fight.

Plus, two elite Brazilian featherweights will go head-to-head as Yuri Alcantara fights Hacran Dias. The two have nearly 50 combined wins without a defeat in years. Their styles and ability to finish the fight anywhere make for a hard-to-predict bout that should pique the interest of hardcore fans.

A featherweight showdown between Felipe Arantes and Milton Vieira will also take place at this event. Vieira is a longtime veteran of the sport, known for his incredible durability and submission ability, while Arantes is a young prospect with a flashy and powerful striking game.

The remainder of the fight card will feature contestants from TUF Brasil, including the two finalists vying to become the show's first-ever Ultimate Fighter.

Cracking, though you gotta think the 5 rounder favors Rich... Whoever wins should fight Bisping vs Boetsch winner.

I'm looking forward to seeing this fight,but I'm a bit pissed that they are making basically a TUF finale PPV.

I'll be honest I think Rich is going to put Wand to sleep, Any word who Le is fighting I imagine they will keep him on the card.

I've heard that Belcher is going to replace Franklin against Cung Le

Apologies Ben ..but I'll say on record right now that Wandi will definately lose this fight unfortunately , and I dont even rate Franklin.

Looks like Patrick Cote might be getting the Cung Le fight.

Belcher was mentioned,but thinking about it,after the Palhares performance,Belcher should only be fighting possible title contenders,so I wouldn't blame him for turning it down,it's a nothing to gain and plenty to lose situation.

The 1st fight was so close but since then Wand has adjusted to the weight and Rich has been inactive for a year and a half... and is coming off a poor performance and an Injury...

Payne, its PPV... sh1t I dont see many people forking out Fifty Dollars or whatever you guys pay for it. Russow vs Werdum isnt a big co-main event either, Neither guy is close to popular.
