UFC 112: Arena Photos Show Construction Progress

When it hits Abu Dhabi on April 10 for UFC 112, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will have its first ever outdoor event. The show is taking place at a brand-new stadium, called Concert Arena, that is being designed specifically with UFC events in mind. These photos, taken a week ago, show the progress that the construction project has made.



When UFC 112 was announced, UFC President Dana White noted the significance of its status as both the first outdoor show the promotion has ever put on and the first show the promotion has put on in Abu Dhabi, home of Flash Entertainment, which last year purchased 10 percent of the UFC.

"This is one of the biggest and most significant nights in the history of the UFC," White said. "UFC 112 is our first ever outdoor event and it is taking place in the hometown of our brand new partners, Flash Entertainment. We are very happy we could deliver what fans around the world will recognize as a stacked card featuring the sport's biggest stars."

Concert Arena is being built adjacent to Ferrari World, a theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

I'm not in constuction,so I can't comment to much but these pictures were taken a week ago and with only a week untill the event,it looks like they really need to get their shit together to get this finished,they are cutting it very close.

It looks good though.

I wonder how the different conditions will affect fighters, i think ive predicted way to many decisions.......

Also will be great having a PPV event starting at a reasonable hour for us. I think the event itself is offered in the afternoon and also a tape delay at night in the states.

What time does it actually kick off in Abu Dhabi?

9 in the evening. Which is 6 o clock british time, which is 1 pm Eatern time in the states, which i think is 10 am in the west coast.

Yes I will be attenting the event, my cousin scored front row seats for me which is incredible.

according to espn listings the event starts at 5pm guys, as its followed by live coverage of the fiorentina match. what a great time to watch the event and head to the pub

And its not just in Abu Dhabi, where you might think its because of ADCC, which is why MMA is so popular.


Ive had first hand experiences of people being into MMA in the likes of Libya, Eygpt, Saudi, Tunisia etc
The UFC events are shown on Arabic satellite channels.

This (UFC 112) is going to the first step, into further growth of MMA in middle east/ Northern African
