    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asashoryu

Sengoku are looking at Bringing former Sumo Champ Asashoryu to fight for them. He is one of the most successfull Yokozuna (Highest rank of Sumo) of all time.

He has a background in Judo and Mongolian Wrestling and is known for his Throws and Slams even against Larger opposition.

He isnt your typical Akebono, he is pretty athletic and doesnt a lot of weight training, he also has a brother who fights in MMA. (Cant find his record though he lost to Sapp because he injured his foot!) Asashoryu finished his career at 330lbs but has weighed as little as 285lbs.

I dont know how successfull a Sumo will ever be in MMA, but he could potentially make the weight cut to 265lbs and by the look of him he could be a serious powerhouse grappler... Sumo/Wrestling/Judo combined with being able to bench 440lbs and lifted and slammed bodyslammed 348lb opponent twice!

Id like to see him matched up with Ishii! I think that would be a cool fight as they are both pretty big names in Japan.

Asashoryu also sounded like the Bad Boy of Sumo, wearing suits insted of traditional Japanese geat and pushing oppoennts after the matches in Sumo! Also being Mongolian he was a bit of an outsider....

Sengoku doesnt have the strongest Heavyweight devision so itll be interesting to see how he does, he seems to have more potential that any Sumo Ive seen entering MMA

Minowa isnt exclusive to Dream? Otherwise its a perfect fight! I think Ishii, Pee Wee Herman, "Kiss" Nakao, Jim York, Choi Mu Bae, Ivanov, Ironhead.... there arent a lot of options for a heavyweight at Sengoku.

Im going to get a few vids of him, Id love too see a Sumo hitting a few nasty Hip throws, and Ive gotta see him picking up and slamming another Sumo! Shame Sengoku has a poor heavyweight devision, then again he can bet he wont be fed to the wolves so to speak.... as there arent any on Sengoku!

Haven't watched any Sumo since the days of Chiyonofuji. Pity that MMA was in it's infancy back then. If I remember rightly, he was one of the slimmer Yokuzunas. Would have been interesting to see how he would have got on.
