Mine has to be this, although I didn't see this at the time, Fedor's debut in Pride, particularly THAT entrance. Essentially the beginning of one of the most dominant era's in MMA history.

Greatest 'moment' in MMA
Thought this would be interesting, gage everyones opinions on the the greatest ever 'moments' are in MMA, those truly important times that you might even consider showing your kids. Proper life changing stuff!

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
never saw that entrance before.
interesting the way they talked about him back then.
also they announced him as from ukraine.
"the ring girls are reliatively good" made me laugh.
as for mine personally?
has to be crocop breaking down after winning the owgp. watched it on my own, on my computer and was probably my happiest moment as a fan.
(stupid youtube doesnt have the video)

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
Greatest moment? Hmmmm, very tough to decide. Coming at it from the perspective of the moment that had me squirming in my seat the most, I think it has to be Rampage stopping Liddell again when he came to the UFC.
I think most people at the time saw Chuck as the favourite to avenge the Pride loss back in his own arena, but instead Rampage stopped him even more easily and Chuck was never the same again. Shocking moment, didn't see it coming, spelt the beginning of the end for one of the biggest names ever to compete in MMA, and the beginning of a new dawn for one of the most controversial characters ever.

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
For me, it's the Randleplex and Fedors recovery to sub him not long after. It was a moment where you thought "Shit, is this guy human or a machine" and really showed why he is the greatest MMA fighter to date.
It was also a bit representative of MMA in general and showed that mental toughness and skill can be used to overcome raw power.
Perhaps the greatest moment of the greatest fighter?

For me, it was Randy Couture boxing the head off Sylvia for 25 mins
The crowd was amazing for that fight.

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
There are several for me.
Randy rocking Sylvia within 8 seconds was one of the few times I leaped up from my seat.
The Randleplex was another one that sticks out, made more amazing by the fact that Fedor survived and won!
Scott Smith Comeback against Sell was incredible and Nog in the many comebacks.
GSPs comeback as whole since the Serra loss has been the stuff of legends.
But possibly the single greatest momment might be the momment Saku broke Renzo's arm with that lightning quick Kimura, fantastic momment.

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
There's a few, for me -
The 1st UFC event I remember, was UFC2, remember getting a copy from a mate that was living in the USA, remember the Ettish/Rhodes fight most.
Definitely Randlemann vs Fedor, still cannot believe how Fedor did not get KO'd by that.
Pride 25, Wandy and Rampage showed exactly what rivalry means -
For comedy value, and the, what the fuck just happened - when Sapp picked Nog up and dropped him in some madass piledrive.
Matt Hughes and Carlos Newton at UFC34, The first time I saw Mirko's LHK (against Vovchanchyn) -
so many more though.

Re: Greatest 'moment' in MMA
What about BJ Penn, when he moved up to fight Matt Hughes for the WW title.BJ ended up totally controlling and then choking out Hughes. What made this sweeter was at the time Matt Hughes was totally dismissing BJ as a threat and only took this fight because he had ran out of opponents at WW.
This was at a time when Hughes had cleared out the WW division and was classed as the best WW in the world.

Back when both were truly psychotic! But then Rampage got battered in the fight and had to shut up!
