Kang, Larson, Delgado and Dent cut from UFC Empty Kang, Larson, Delgado and Dent cut from UFC

Multiple sources report that the UFC brass has issued a latest batch of pink slips: The most high-profile castoff of the bunch is none other than the former top 10 middleweight, Denis Kang.

Kang recorded a remarkable 23-fight undefeated streak from 2003 to 2006 in such organizations as Pride FC and Spirit MC. Since then, he has dropped five of nine fights to opponents such as Kazuo Misaki, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Gegard Mousasi.

As one of the most prized acquisitions by UFC this year, he has not lived up to the lofty hype: His UFC record stands at 1-2, with a decison win over Xavier Foupa-Pokam sandwiched between dispiring losses to Alan Belcher in his promotional debut and to Michael Bisping at UFC 105.

He is reportedly in talks with several promotions in the US and abroad. As devastating a cut from UFC roster may be for Kang, he has numerous options, such as following Dan Henderson to Strikeforce or going back to Japan where he made his name as one of the premier welterweights in Pride FC.

The former WEC welterweight, Brock Larson, also received his walking paper after going 2-2 in his second UFC stint. After recording wins over Jesse Sanders and Mike Pyle, the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy fighter suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his career to relative unknowns, Mike Pierce and Brian Foster.

Given his overall record of 26-4 and stature in the welterweight division, the third run in UFC could very well be on horizon for Larson if he manages to string together several victories elsewhere.

Not too surprisingly, TUF alums, Roli Delgado and Jason Dent rounded out the purge. Delgado, a TUF 8 alum, has gone 1-2 in the Octagon since his stint in TUF. On the other hand, Dent has gone 1-1 since starring in TUF 9 and also has two losses in the Octagon prior to the TUF stint.

Kang will be OK, there will be a home for him in DREAM(force)

Dent and Delgado will have a hard time making it back into the big leagues, they are not very interesting or marketable in any way.

Larson will be back in teh UFC will a few wins, that is if he doesnt go to strikeforce.

Good news for Strikeforce. I think Larson would be a great signing for their WW division. And if Kang becomes his old self he's a good fighter who would add to their MW division.

Dent could be useful in Strikeforce/Dream or possibly the WEC. Id imagine the latter would be a better option, at LW or FW.

Delgado plain sucks, a life as a journeyman awaits.

Larson could be useful in strikeforce but he can't be a threat to the better WWs. Diaz, Shields, Hieron and even Taylor should beat him easily.

Kang could be useful for SF but not really a threat to anyone, just another fighter. Based on his last fight he needs to retire.

LArsons last performance was terrible, I think he got a 2 point deduction and was loosing the round 10-8! I think it was MMA's 1st 10-6 round Ive scored! No supprise he was cut although it was an uncharacteristic percormance I dont think he is a bad figher.

Kang is the biggest supprise, he lost to Bisping but he dropped him. Khan is hot and cold, when he is on his game he is a really good figher, Sometimes I thik UFC dont give fighers enough of a chance to settle in and prove themselves, I think the Crow and Professor X were cut very early as well. Shame really but like you all say Strikeforce/Dream is always and option to any good figher UFC cut.

Its not like Strikeforce/Dream are above taking guys UFC dont want because UFC have taken guys that Strikeforce dont want (Baroni!)
