For it being so close id have expected to see more fights announced, has anyone heard any more fights added to the card? Any news or Rumors you hear post them on this thread.

Marlon Moraes vs Tyson Nam is an amazing fight, Worthy of a main spot on a UFC card, id expect this to headline.

Also we have the return on Paulo Filho, he is fighting on the card but no idea of an opponent (And with him having a few 205lbs bouts recently I dont know this one will be a 185lbs or not) but if its at 185 Filho vs Thales Leites makes a lot of sence.

They just signed 11-1 Jerrod Sanders who fought 11 of those 12 fights in 2011 and 2012!

Dan Lauzon was also signed to the organisation so he will likely debut on the show too.

Rumble hasnt a fight lined up and has a multi fight deals as far as I know so I can see him fighting again.

Arlovskis fight with Monson at that Royal FC event has been pushed back maby to March. I know he want to stay active but I dont see him fighting at WSOF and then a month later.

JZ lost a close kickboxing fight in November he is looking to stay active so I dare say we see him at WSOF2, Dan Lauzon vs JZ anyone?

Rolles Gracie won this New years eve on the Inoki card, him and Chris Barnett would be a great scrap to see who is going places at Hw.

Sefo seems keen to fight on the card too rumors of him fighting someone.

Fingers crossed Miguel Torres comes back at this event Ive not heard a peep out of him since his loss at WSOF's 1st card.

Marlon Moraes vs Tyson Nam a battle of 2 men who handed possibly the biggest upsets of 2012 would be a good scrap and would be a good idea to have It for a 135 belt.

I hope Torres comes back too Ben.....and gets brutally KTFO. Twisted Evil

Rumble will probably headline the event maybe they will create a Belt for him to fight, presumably at Rumbleweight Very Happy

Just out of interest anyone know was the deal with Axs TV (HDNet) for the first show a one off ?.
Why I ask with Strikeforce ending and Showtime still wanting to remain in thee MMA market WSOF seem the most likely org that could off the bat have some sort of success with talent they have under contract.

It was NBC sports (formerly known as Versus, the former home of the WEC)that aired WOSF 1.

As far as I know,NBC sports had just agreed to air the first event, but they have the option to extend the deal.

I have no clue if they have took that option up though.

Thanks Payne I though It was HDNet but I was obviously wrong.

As I said I did see that Stephen Espinoza (the head of Showtime Sports) still wants to remain in the MMA market in fact he even said If they don't deal with a single org he is also looking at maybe using an umbrella system involving current active org's. The thing he kept mentioning in the interview was that MMA holds key demographic for Showtime viewership.

To me this looks like the ideal time for an upstart org to step up to a big platform, I imagine If Invicta steps up to the No.2 or 3 org Ben will go mental, Actually I hope this happens. Laughing

Hopefully they sign Ewerton Texiera to a contract. MMA needs more stand-up strikers IMO.

World Series of Fighting has entered into a three-year broadcast deal with NBC Sports Network.

The partnership allows NBC Sports Network to deliver live mixed martial arts programming, beginning with the promotion’s second show, “WSOF 2,” on Saturday, March 23rd at 10PM ET at Revel Resorts & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The agreement calls for a minimum of six live events annually on the network, which reaches over 80 million homes. Additionally, later this year, NBCSports.com will offer a live stream of World Series of Fighting cards via TV Everywhere.

“We are thrilled to call NBC Sports Network the home of World Series of Fighting,” said World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo. “This partnership will allow us to build the World Series of Fighting brand of world-class MMA competition before a dedicated national audience of passionate sports fans and place our athletes on the big stage that they deserve.”

Bloody Elbow's Steph Daniels interviewed Sefo for further details.

Stephie Daniels: I saw the Nam / Moraes fight confirmed for your first card this year. Are there any other big fights inthe works?

Ray Sefo: I have some surprises for you. As a matter of fact, we have a verbal agreement for our main event. It's Andrei Arlovski vs. Anthony Johnson. It will be at heavyweight.

SD: What are the plans for the six cards this year? Will they all be situated in Nevada, or are you planning to take them to other locations?

RS: Well, I have another surprise. The March 23rd card will be at the Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Then, the next event will be back here, in Vegas. We're definitely going to be all over the country.

SD: What's happening with Extreme Couture?

RS: You know, it's kind of crazy. Some guy wrote some sort of article about all our guys leaving Extreme, but that's completely fals and wrong. Mike Pyle, for example, had been talking about training over at The Syndicate for a while, because his striking coach was there, and his best friend owns the gym. There has been talk about Mike leaving for about a year, and there was no bad blood or any ill will.

So Rumble is fighting at HW now, Very Happy

Crazy to think within 16 months,Rumble go's from fighting Charlie Brennaman at 170Lb to Arlovski at HW.

I'll be backing Arlovski,i know Andre's chin comes into doubt, but when you look at the the guys who turned his lights out, they were monster strikers and i don't put rumble close to them.

I also can't get the Belfort fight out of my head, where rumble came in as a LHW in a MW fight and got spanked.
I see Andre making him quit after a few solid shots.

plus the Blackzillians suck at the Mo Very Happy

Yeah I think AA wins too, Hw is a step too far, Dont think he will have felt power like it. I love to see AA get a fight with Overeem after this if he wins.

I don't think he'll leave WSOF now,he's their marquee HW talent and with there new TV deal,he'd probably be better off finishing his career off, being the big fish in a small pond, being watched by a pretty large TV audience, instead of being a middle of the road talent in the UFC's HW division.

I'd like to see him back in the UFC mixing it with even talent, but I think he can make just as much money in the WSOF,fighting lower tier guys.

    Few new fights announced...

Heavyweight bout: Andrei Arlovski vs. Anthony Johnson
Bantamweight bout: Marlon Moraes vs. Tyson Nam
Middleweight bout: Dave Branch vs. Paulo Filho
Welterweight bout: Josh Burkman vs. Ryan LaFlare
Lightweight bout: Gesias Cavalcante vs. Justin Gaethje

Cracking card so far. JZ's oponent is 7-0 (with a 6-0) amature background. Ive not heard of him but good to see his is getting a tough fight. Gaethje has finished all but 1 fight and has won Via Slam, KO, Sub... hope JZ wins.

I honestly see guys staying in WSOF for a fight or 2 to raise their profile and over to UFC. Ive a funny feeling this will end up a feeder league and they will have a good relationship with UFC.

Still no word on Sefo fighting. Many Sergei that would be a good fight.
