Äxe has got the poster awards sorted so I thought I would take the lead and get our picks for the best, the worst and just the plain "comical" in MMA this year. I will list some categories, you post your picks and I will tally them up. I may have got carried away and put too many down but feel free to boycott some of the choices, or add more of your own.

Welterweight of the Year - Paul Daley.... Just kidding, GSP without a doubt.

Middleweight of the Year - Jorge Santiago (Was gonna put Sonnen but Santiago has had two real impressive wins this year whereas Sonnen is 1-1.)

Light Heavyweight of the Year - Rafael Cavalcante

Heavyweight of the Year - Cain Velasquez

Female Fighter of the Year - Marlos Coenen

Striker of the Year - Jose Aldo

Submission Artist of the Year - Chris Lytle

Most Shocking Moment - Shogun's quick and easy KO of Macheata (Honourable mention goes to Mir KO'ing Mirko after such a mind numbing fight.)

Referee of the Year - Josh Rosenthal (Has overtaken Herb as the best ref in the business.)

Worst Referee - Big Dan Miragliotta

Worst Decision - Nam Phan- Leonard Garcia (This award will split opinion i'm sure as there were so many shockers this year.)

Best Refereeing Performance (match) - Rosenthal in the Carwin- Lesnar beatdown, not stopping it in the first when he could have very easily. (Honourable mention to Big Dan for his handling of the Daley- Kos aftermath.)

Worst Refereeing Performance (match) - Can't think atm, it's gotta be a Big Dan, or maybe a Mazzagatti?
