Faber to 135lbs Empty Faber to 135lbs

Im sure you all saw the recent interview were Faber said he would cut to 135lbs for his next fight. He was quoted as saying...

“It sounds like [the WEC] wants me to go down to 35. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, have some fights down there. All through college I was 133 pounds. I’m probably a natural [bantamweight], it won’t be difficult for me. Not 100% sure when [I'm going to fight next], but it’s going to be fairly soon.”

I think this could be a great career move, Surely they have to match him up with Miguel Torres. Despite recent losses this is still a bit of a Superfight isnt it?

The fight with Torres has to be first up, then maybe Bowles.

They are still two of the most skilled fighers in MMA, who would you back? Id hope for Torres but I think Faber would win, Torres' curret form is possibly even worse than Fabers!

135lbs certainly isnt as deep a devision as 145lbs... bit off topic but Korena Zombie vs Torres would be fight of the year.

I actually think 135 is a more competitive division than 145. I think Aldo is far better than anyone else at 145. 135 is pretty competitive and has quite a lot of good fighters. I think Torres would beat Faber if he comes in at his best.

Yeah there are some really good match ups for faber at 135Lb.

    Dominic Cruz
    Joseph Benavidez
    Brian Bowles
    Scott Jorgensen
    Damacio Page
    Brad Pickett
    Takeya Mizugaki
    Miguel Torres
    Frank Gomez
    Antonio Banuelos
    Rani Yahya

I think they will only make Faber have one warm up fight against Torres or Bowles before they rematch him against Cruz for the Title.

I wouldn't have that as the first fight, a loss for Torres would be disasterous. He needs to work his way to a comeback. Every fighter has a major setback in his career, but its how you respond. You saw how GSP responded after losing to Serra. He stepped his game up, and became by far the best WW in the world and a top 5 P4P fighter. You saw how Cro Cop responded. He didn't.

I'd like to see Torres rematch with Bowles/Mizugaki or fight Page

and for Faber to fight Page/Pickett

    Then have them fight.

135 has become very competitive now, besides the top 2, Faber and Torres, you have Jorgenson, Page, Buenalos.

At 145, I'd like to see Soto join the WEC if he defends his title. Adding Askren and Warren would also greatly improve the quality. I also would love Fernandes to go there and Kid if he intrested. That would give Aldo a lot more competition, I can't see anyone beating him right now. I don't think Manny has enough to beat him.

As soon as Faber and Torres pick up wins, then put them against eachother, would make a good fight for PPV.

i hope that Torres/Faber isnt matched straight away i dont want to see either lose they both needs fight that they can get there confidence back with id love to see Faber/Bowles think that would be a good fight and a fight Faber could win and Torres maybe a rematch with Mizugaki that was a great fight the first time round think Torres should win it again in another great fight
