Ok few websites are reporting the fight is happening, a few say its off....

Anyone got a reliable answer, is Filho vs Lombard on? Im really looking forward to it becase I think its going to be a big launching pad for Lombard.

Filho says its off, Bellator CEO says its still on.

So no idea if its on or not.

Loving Bellator, this should be a cracking fight. Really looking forward to the semis too, the lightweight semis last week were great.

So Jay Silva set to step in for Paulo Filho against Hector Lombard at Bellator

Filho is out of the rankings as far as im concerned. He has had 1 win at Mw since his 2007 win over Sonnen.

Untill he fights again at 185 I think he has to be taken out of the rankings. Ill add him to the 205 just missed out list but he is really taking the piss with missing events.

Did anyone hear about the 2nd Sonnen fight? He actually asked Sonnen during the fight to take him down and lie on top of him and rest! He was asking to throw the fight, he clearly wanted no part of it!

Paulo Filho Blames Bellator, Says He Is Fighting Three Times In July


Paulo Filho explains why he won't be fighting Hector Lombard this week and what is schedule looks like in the future:

"Honestly, I don’t know. I think maybe people knew I was in a good shape, strong, so they got scared… In fact, I’ve been informed it was a mistake of the event, which didn’t gave me the letter so I could take it to the council. Things were left to be solved at the last minute, unfortunately I won’t fight", said Filho.

"My biggest concern is that people start to think that my absences are because of other things better than from what it actually is… I was training hard, working on my boxing with Distak, conditioning, running on the beach, doing Jiu-Jitsu… It was everything going pretty good, but there’s always something to get in the way", regrets the fighter.

"My fight schedule is full, three fights within 20 days on July. The first is on the 3rd, the second on the 10th and against a guy who has fought with (José) Pelé, and the third I think is between Marvin Eastman or Denis Kang, on 18th", reveals the black belt. "There is enough time left, but I believe that all the bureaucracy is for the best… To get into America is pretty hard".

Filho has fought 6-4 Tatsuhiko Nishizaka at 205lbs and 14-10 Alex Schoenauer. Both men are 185ers so I can only assume by the shape he was in and the performance he put in he couldnt be arsed cutting weight given the level of fighter he was fighting.

Before this he beat Manhoef his only win at 185 recently

He tried to throw the fight with Sonnen and didnt make weight either.

Filhos only real good win was back in 2007 against Sonnen!!

Ive no faith any of these fights will happen. Infact ive removed Filho from the 185 rankings due to inactivity at the weight (he is on the just missed out at 205 to be fair to him!!)

Real waste of tallent, never really lost a fight in his career as he didnt even want to be in the cage with Sonnen.
