MMA Clothing WARNING!! Empty MMA Clothing WARNING!!

Post  Paddyjock Wed Sep 16, 2009 1:26 pm

Guys I have just received my brand new Frank Shamrock T-shirt oredr from the Sports-select website via

    http://www.supplement-select.co.uk/tapout_clothing/tapout_t_shirts/tapout_black_frank_shamrock_white_t.htm

When I opened the envelope what I got was a poor quality fake. The material of the t-shirt is practically see through. It has no labels or tags bearing the TapouT trademark and the print on the t-shirt is poor quality. There was no answer to the phone number provided. I have written an email and await a refund.

Just want to edit this post to say the guy from Sport-Select website has been very helpful on the email tonight and the quality issue seems to be firmly levelled at TapouT.

Just for fairness here is the response I have received so maybe I jumped the gun but I still think the t-shirt is really poor quality.

I am sorry you were disappointed with your purchase, I can assure you that all our articles are genuine. I have CCd in our TapouT rep to this email to show we have nothing to hide and also to pass on your customer feedback to the manufacturer.

The TapouT Black line are a different material to the “beefy” style T shirts used in the regular TapouT line, the process of Acid Washing (I believe this is the correct term) gives the T shirt a thin and light weight feel. (This is a common style with other premium label MMA Ts at the moment.)

Not all TapouT T shirts come with bags or tags, and looking at the other TapouT Black products we have on our shelves there are none of the traditional TapouT tags on those either, only size tags and barcodes on some.

However if you would still like to refund this item you are welcome to return it to the address on the top left of your invoice:

And we will issue an immediate refund on receipt of the original item returned in new condition (or we can exchange it for any other items from our range of equal value and post those to you for no extra charge as per our standard customer service terms.)

If you wish to purchase the item direct from TapouT you can do so at www.tapout.com however I assure you that you will receive an identical product from them.

If you wish to discuss this on your MMA forum please advise me and I will happily join in the discussion if you direct me to the post. You may in fact find that members who have purchased from other sources describe the product of being the same as ours.

Again I am sorry that you have not been 100% satisfied with your purchase and if there is anything more I can do for you please don’t hesitate to let me know.

So has anyone else purchased from this new TapouT range and been disappointed with the quality?

Nothing myself mate but fair play to the guy for his response. Yu can get a refund and get a different style of tshirt from them. The only Tshirt I want is a Pride one but I can find a decent one anywere, UFC did a cool gret one with Pride FC logo being like the Japanese sunrise... looked great... Or the Brazil coloured Pride Tshirt I was shogun wear but I havnt seen that for sale.

Its gone now though and No luck finding it on Ebay... Damn it! I dont really like Black ones they look too like Heavy Metal Band Tshirts sometimes! Laughing

Yeah I think the Shammy one in white is really great but unfortunately when you have it in your hand it feels like cheap tat. The print on the inside of the neck at the back comes right through the material and you can clearly see it from the outside.

Gutted as I really like it but just can't justify spending the money on such a poor quality product.

I really like that Shamrock t-shirt. I'm assuming the material is like the affliction stuff. Feels cheap but is very comfortable and light. That pride t-shirt is really cool as well.

I'm a fucker for shopping on the net. I'd say i have easily spent about 2 grand just on t-shirts in the last year. Affliction is my main vice. I like BadBoy and Sinister too. But i'm a disaster. Road jeans and cords, affliction t-shirts and hoodies. My wardrobe is quite limited! haha! But i buy anything that i think is cool.

    For example

    I just ordered these:

My favourite has to be the 'Nobody beats me' Fedor T-Shirt that the man himself has been seen wearing. Pure quality.

Are those zazzle t-shirts thin as fuck with a really thick and high collar and massive sleeves, or are they a decent cut and cloth?

For the record, the t-shirts arrived and were of ok quality to be kind to them.

I should not be allowed near a computer unless my credit card is locked away somewhere.

I was re-watching the 104 weigh-ins and quiet liked the t-shirt that Machida wore. I hadn't heard of Silverstar so i went looking on www.mmafightwear.net and just bought 6 t-shirts, 2 hoodies and a hat! And i couldn't even find the t-shirt Machida was wearing! I'm a disaster.

Frank Glamrock is sponsored by Condom Depot. Apparently they pay really well.

Hayabusa make nice t-shirts. I'm wearing one at the minute as it happens.
