Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
thanks alot for postting these, here is my thoughts:
I am a big Ammoussou fan since i saw him brutally KO someone in the m1 challenge with a headkick. He has a good future, he is very fast and dangerous fighter.
dissapointing end though. Can anyone explain why this was a technical draw and not a no contest???
Great performance by Rockhold and glad he is in EA MMA!

I've got no idea Chesty, surely it has to be a no contest?
I like the look of Ammoussou as well, it looked like Prangley's size was beginning to give him the edge in the fight though.
An impressive win for Rockhold.

Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
Isnt it if a fight stops by inadvertant illegal strike then they consult the judges scorecard for the rounds??
Thats what i heard after Bonnar-Sozynski fight.

Good card, disspointing finish to the main event.
It couldn't have been a decision because it wasn't even one round, and a close round as well.
Technical draw, no contest-no difference really. Hope we see a rematch.

Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
In boxing , a technical draw occurs when one fighter is injured out before the end of the 4th round. Hence the controversy in the Khan vs Barrera fight, barrera recieved a bad cut in the first but the fight wasnt stopped till the end of the fifth (I think), so a countback occured and Khan won a technical decision.
Perhaps a similar rule was in effect in this fight?

Rockhold looked great! That was some beatdown... the ref just saw enough!! Shame about the eyepoke Psycho looked really good, Prangley looked a sitting duck on the feet.

What a lame fight Ammoussou v Prangley was. A terrible finish. They should have given him a break. If he quit Prangley wins. Simples.

Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
Was a dissapointing end to the Amoussou fight, my understanding is that there is no 5minute rule for an inadvertent strike (unless it's a groin strike) and, because a round had not been completed, they were unable to go to the judges, therefore a technical draw. I may be wrong though.
Was impressed with Karl, from what I've seen, he has terrific hand speed.

Prangley reckons Ammoussou had taken enough...
What can you say? I can't say how it would have gone. I'm not saying I would have kicked his ass, but I really think I was going to. I think he looked like he wanted out of there.

That's quite lame. Karl was winning the fight IMO, and when the doctor came in, it appeared that there was some misunderstanding. I think that Karl thought he had some time to recover. He didn't appear to be able to open his eye properly. Could see Karl easily winning a rematch on the basis of the first few minutes.

Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
yeah i think he asked for time, but then the referee called it!
obviously Karl was as confused as everyone else to the rules.
not alot happened in the fight up until that point. but Karl landed the harder shots.
BTW this was on Bravo 2 last night.

It was on Bravo on Sunday night then repeated again last night. Hopefully Bravo will keep showing all the Strikeforce cards.

Re: Strikeforce Challengers Videos
Managed to record it from Bravo2, was showing as recordable series, so hoping that this is a good indication.
