JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
I hope JDS will KO Reem but it could be very different. Just got a feeling Overeem is going to take it.

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
Looking forward to this one, but for me JDS, I've never been sold on Overeem's defence, there's no doubting that he has outstanding striking, but the question is how he reacts when put under pressure. It's been a long time since he's been seriously tested. JDS by Stoppage 2nd or 3rd.

Reem and Spong training there with Evans?
Jon Jones is getting knocked out.
Assuming he doesn't get "injured" again.

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
I dont know Overeem can teach Evans much than Spong cant because he isnt as technically good but for a sparing partner training with someone with the height and reach of Jones + all that extra bulk he is a great training partner to get used to the range of Jones' strikes.
Its shaping up to be a great camp of fighters, Evans clearly looked a new fighter since moving there and near taking Tito in half with a knee.
Who all is at the gym?
Evans
Overeem
Rumble
Spong
I read a load of the brazilians that Joined where,
Bigfoot
Santiago
JZ
Danillo and Yuri Villefort
Van Arsdale and Marcus Aurelio are two of the coaches there. It seemed to come from nowhere but I hear its a great camp with some serious sparing sessions really pushing its fighers.

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
Is Guillard not training there as well?
As far as I know - 2009 ADCC champ Braulio Estima, Florian, Alvarez, JZ Cavalcante, Shields, Torres, Meathead, Ednaldo Oliviera, along with the names you mentioned Ben. They've also got Henri Hooft as a striking coach and Flavius Silva.

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
From MMA Junkie:
"The Blackzilians is a new camp comprised mostly of fighters who left from other notable fight teams. Blackzilian members include the likes of Rashad Evans, Melvin Guillard, Jake Shields, Miguel Torres, Eddie Alvarez, Anthony Johnson and others. Coaches include Mike Van Arsdale, Henri Hooft, Flavius Silva and Marcus Silva."
Did Jake Shields leave Cesar Gracie?

Shields is training there to improve his striking but he's still with Cesar.

Back to the fight Overeem smashes JDS' jaw apart with a massive knee and JDS goes into a coma....

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
JDS uses his speed and movement to pick Reem off for a round, while avoiding unnecessary exchanges.Reem tires, starts puffing and is reduced to throwing one punch bombs, you can see he's mentally and physically shot half way through the 2nd.
JDS unloads a big unanswered combo,Reem crumbles, turtles up and the ref stops the fight.
JDS 2nd rd stoppage

I think Payne has the first round spot on, but I think once Reem gets tired, JDS will take him down, GNP him and then submit him.

Agreed. I'll be shocked if this fight doesn't end via knockout.

JDS is a very smart fighter, he's got good takedowns, and Reem is not good off his back.

Re: JDS V REEM SET FOR 146 IN MAY
REEM has a good two rounds in his tank.
He would be wise to target the lead leg of Dos Santos. Cigano doesn't really defend low kicks, and it would help balance out REEMs severe gassing from round three onwards.
Though we have to remember, JDS is no captain cardio himself.

Reem's leg kicks aren't exactly the quickest things in the world. Plenty of power but they don't really snap and that might leave him open to getting taken down.
