Re: UFC 141 Chat Box
I'll be on.
It's going to be a long night.I've treated myself to HD net over christmas,so I've got 9 hours of Dream to watch afterwards.
Think I'll more than likely just TIVO Dream though, watch the reserve and semi's of the tourney and maybe the Mega fight and then watch the rest in the mourning.
That way,I can fast forward through all the wrestling matches.
Here's the order for the Dream card for those that are interested, starting at the bottom, going up.
• Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii
• Champ Shinya Aoki vs. Satoru Kitaoka (for lightweight title)
• Champ Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Takeshi "Lion" Inoue (for featherweight title)
• Atsushi Sawada and Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Kazushi Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata (pro-wrestling match)
• Peter Aerts vs. Kazuyuki Fujita (pro-wrestling match)
• Jerome Le Banner vs. Tim Sylvia (pro-wrestling match)
• Yuichiro Nagashima vs. Katsunori Kikuno (mixed-rules bout)
• Josh Barnett vs. Hideki Suzuki (pro-wrestling match)
• Yuta Kubo vs. Nils Widlund (kickboxing match)
• Masaaki Noiri vs. Kengo Sonoda (kickboxing match)
• Ryo Chonan vs. Hayato "Mach" Sakurai
• Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kazuyuki Miyata
• Karla Benitez vs. Megumi Fujii
• Rodolfo Marques Diniz vs. Bibiano Fernandes (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
• Antonio Banuelos vs. Masakazu Imanari (bantamweight grand-prix semifinal)
• Yusup Saadulaev vs. Hideo Tokoro (bantamweight grand-prix reserve match)

It's shit JLB vs Sylvia is pro wrestling, wasn't Le Banner calling him out for an mma fight before or was that Sefo? Aerts vs Ironhead too wrestler vs striker. Sad these legends are wrestling. I'm Gunna have to record the fight tonight and catch them after work tomorrow. Brock looked in good shape, still don't think he is making it outta the 1st

As you know,i've never held back about how i think the Japanese way of running MMA is poor, this to me is just pure shit, real combat sports have absolutely no buisness being on the same card as this fake wrestling crap, not only are we being denied watching good fighters, showcasing their real skills and instead get to watch them do a christmas fucking panto act,it makes you doubt just how legit the rest of the fights are going to be,especially if that's what the japanese fans and promoters would prefer watching them do.
I think tonights fight between Brock and Reem, you'll know who's winning this fight either way, after the first 30 seconds and I can't see the fight going past 2 rds.
If Brock gets that early takedown and Reem can't get back to his feet quickly,I think he'll be fucked pyshically and mentally and can't see him surviving for long.
But if reem can stuff brocks first takedown and keep it standing, then I think he pretty much dismantles brock.
I was pretty confident on Reem for a while, but now closer to the fight, not so much.

lighten up man! its new years eve. This is the gala event where people enjoying themselves is the main priority. Its a celebration of fighting, actually in Japan pro-wrestling is grouped alongside MMA.
MMA in Japan comes from professional wrestling, remember?
I dont follow pro wrestling but I can appreciate it, and personally i would rather see Sakuraba do this, at this stage of his career.
Watch the Josh Barnett match without just thinking about how fake the whole thing is, and you might just enjoy it. He is not being denied from fighting MMA, he has a fight soon enough with Cormier. He just wanted to wrestle on this card.
(I can't say the same for JLB/Sylvia! it could be very poor match)
I'm glad they are mixing up these K1, womens, tournament, pro wrestling, mixed rules in this kind of variety fight card. It seems like fun.

Re: UFC 141 Chat Box
I'll be alright when I finish work and get some drinks and a smoke inside me.
I'm not down on Pro wrestlers, you have to respect them for their athleticism and what they put themselves through,[well maybe Timmeh doesn't deserve that respect]but I don't think you should and don't want to watch real and fake together.
For me,having fake wrasslin on the same card, takes some of the legitamacy away from the real fights, ones pure fake entertainment, while the other is a legit sport.
I'm all for seeing a card with a full mixture of real combat sports though.
