A somewhat pointless, but entertaining thread (to me at least)...

If you were in a club or bar etc and some trouble kicked off, which one MMA star past or present would you want to have your back and why?

Its really hard to decide, they would have to have a real presence about then, so they would probably have to be sizeable, and in case punches started flying, you would need a good striker too....hmmmm...the Wanderlei of old? Mirko? Lesnar????

For a fight in a Bar I pick Bas Rutten anyday! just after seeing his self defence vids... that guy would be slitting throats and kicking Balls while you just sat back enjoying his handywork!!!

Excelent post! that Bas video is superb!! I really wish UFC would sign him up to commentate.... Also Im going to post out MMA Hall of Fame If I can find the link anywere.... Its such a shame Bas Rutten isnt in UFC HOF.... and Ken Shamrock is! Its a shame his career was plagued with injury. Bas could have been the greatest.

Anyway, Excellent post, I would want one of two people watching my back. 1. Brock Lesner, 2. Chris Cyborg because im pretty sure they scare the shit out of any living human being. Any MMA fighter besides Kalib Starnes would do for me though. Actually I think Leites would drop to his back if a situation ever occured so I wouldn't want him either.

HAHA yeah im not a Shammy fan. I have a bit of respect for what he did in the early days but I think he is very overhyped. His record recently is worse than Tank Abbotts!! He could only manage to beat Ross Clifton when he was full of Roids! I cant believe he needed to be Juiced to pick up a win against such a journeyman in order to set up a "Suerfight" in the loosest sence of the word with Tank!! What a Bum!! And how badly he came off to Tito... how do you fight Tito and be the Bad guy?? you have to be a real Asshole and I think Shammy did that alright... was so funny to see Tito beat him time and time again!!

Anyway for a pub brawl not Tito either as he got done In outside a club by Lee Murray!! You need a fighter that can hold his drink and still fight... Liddell or Tank would be able to put the pints away and still slug it out.... Seeing as Tank has fought with a few pints in him and by all accounts Liddell was dropping people like flys outside the club were Tito got beat Down... Also Overeem is a fighter with a good track record of fighting in Clubs!!! He beat up 4-5 bouncers or something!! lol! thats the type of guy you want out with you!

Ye he really came across as a dick during the TUF 3 season, he was an awful coach. His team basically spent there time playing Golf and watching tapes of non other than the great Shamrock himself. Tito took the coaching seriously and he came across as a nice guy (not sure how). As you said, anyone who needs to Roid up to fight a fat shit like Ross Clifton is an absolute disgrace, I respect what he did a long time ago but he is disgracing himself nowadays.

Ye I heard about Tito getting KOed by Murray, pretty embarassing. Wouldn't want him anyway because knowing his personality, he would start the whole damn fight. Someone like Liddel would be awesome or imagine Cro Cop, Head kicking guys everywhere. He is Crotian so no doubt he could hold his liqour.

Chuck from a few years ago would be pretty handy if you ever got into trouble. Great chin and you don't want to get hit by him. Now though the fight would probably be over before he even realised it had started
