Well missing 205 by 10lbs isn't really that bad considering he used to look like this...





I hope Ricco doesn't have too much trouble with this guy. He should be beating him very handily but i just have a feeling that what with the weight cut and his knee surgeries it could be a rough night. I hope i'm wrong as i absolutely love him, defo one of my top 5 favourite fighters.

I read something the other day on Monson.

He said this would deffinetely be his last fight at HW and he's had enough and no longer wants to travel around fighting at differant shows all over the place,at 40,he wants to finish his career with one Org at 205.

I don't think he has a chance of that being with the UFC,since the other day Dana was dismissing any chance of Rizzo coming back,saying at his age he'd be better off thinking about retirement,not fighting in the UFC and this is the guy that has gone 2-0 over Monson since he left the UFC.

I think Monson will be strikeforce's next signing and I think that would be the best move for him and add another good name to strikeforce's rosta.

Also Dana will have fucked up not to give Monson another chance Monson is an absolute world class grappler and would handle a lot of lower ranked Lhw's. Guys generally do better when they fight at lower weight classes with few exceptions. Monson vs Mo or Mousasi would rock.

thats monsons 9th fight of this year incredible for a 39 yr old. maybe he can finally get that fight with fedor if he does join strikeforce, i wonder if ufc or Sf would let him fight as often as he has been.

No, I think top organisations will only let a fighter fight 3 times a year and Im sure Monson would be happy enough with this, I think he only fights so often to get paid!

He says he wants to cut to Lhw and make a run a the title in one organisation... he is sick of flying around the world as what he described as "Have Gloves, Will travel to fight" or something like that.

I say Monson vs Mo in SF after he takes care of Ricco Rodriguez in a Lhw fight.

fair play if its only for quick money. if he does join SF he should be considered one of their top guys as it would be a shame if he was made to fight 6/7 times before a title shot, because i honestly think he is till a ranked fighter.
