Bigfoots manager has said they want Barnett or Struve next and want a fight with Cain down the line. Overeem is out of the picture. Werdum is fighting Nog.

Junior is probabally still the number 2 Hw. Id like to see it again Cain and Junior both seem a lot better than anyone else. Werdum has looked good but I wouldnt back him against either till his standup comes along more. Pulling him from the Nog fight would work but why ruin that one when Junior getting a rematch would work, he could play the personal problems, head not in the fight angle.

Cormier wont fight him either though Id imagine UFC would give him the shot though. He seems content with Mir.

Carwin needs to get back and start looking good because Hw is a thin enough devision at the top. I think he might match up better with Cain than Junior, maby needs to trade Bulk for Speed to get back to being a contender.

Turns out Barnett turned down a UFC contract too...

According to Barnett's manager Leland LaBarre, Barnett has officially declined the promotion's latest contract offer.

"We agreed on guaranteed compensation," LaBarre said. "In fact, we never even countered. We accepted their original offer.

"However, there are some outlying issues -- one in particular -- that as of this point we were unable to agree on."

LaBarre said he didn't feel it was appropriate at this time to discuss which issue both sides couldn't come to terms on.

"We want to find the best deal for Josh and his final MMA home," LaBarre said.

Sounds like he still wants to wrestle Rolling Eyes

Yeah It seems that way Overeem's laziness and arrogance has completely fucked up the division and Zuffa's plans for Reem v Cain.

It's really a bad situation for the UFC especially with Werdum tied up with a fight with Nog and TUF, Big Foot not feeling he is ready.

Whilst I like the idea of another JDS/Cain fight, surely it would be an embarrassment, if three of the last four HW title fights, were JDS vs Cain? What about Gonzaga?

I like that idea Pete as really he isn't tied up right now but that being said ideally I think he would be a great next fight for Big Foot right now.

He would. I just cannot see too much credibility in a JDS/Cain monopoly for the title. Gonzaga's probably the most credible HW that is available though. Not that I'd see anything other than a Cain demolition job, but at least it would keep Cain busy, until the top echelon have cleared their diaries.

Id love to see Gonzaga get a shot I really would but I cant see it happening. I also dont see UFC doing a non title fight with a champion unless some 205er could meet him at a catchweight maby?

Gonzaga is less likely to happen that

    1. Pull Werdum from the Nog fight
    2. Make Bigfoot an offer he cant refuse
    3. Give Junior another shot.

I can see Cain waiting, he could take the Struve vs Hunt winner, they will be ranked pretty high..

    Cain
    Junior
    Cormier
    Biffoot
    Overeem
    Werdum

Probabally the winner of Struve/Hunt next over Mir and Nog?

Anyone know when Carwin and Browne are back? Some great fights to make but none in time to create a contender for the title.

After the beating Cain put on Junior, I can't see them making a third fight between them anytime soon. There would be no credibility in making that fight and I don't think it would be a big draw either. Let's see Junior re-establish himself with a couple of wins, as Cain did after Junior sparked him.

Reem losing fucked up the HW div a bit didn't it? I agree with Anfield - JDS probably shouldn't get an instant rematch. There doesn't seem to be a clear cut title contender if you rule JDS out and Cormier set on Mir.

If Mark Hunt beats Struve then maybe he could get JDS? That would be a fun fight to watch!!!

Give Hunt the shot please if/when he beats struve.

What's Kharitonov doing these days? Not exactly a blockbuster matchup, but there really aren't many options.

Overeem needs to get back to golden glory where he had sparring partners good enough to hit him and remind him he needs to protect his chin. Him thinking he was cock of the walk just put the UFC heavyweight division on ice.

Apart from Cormier or Barnett, the only other heavyweight in the world that I'd give a more than 5% chance of beating Cain would be Werdum. I would be totally ok with Werdum being pulled from the Nog fight and granted a shot.

TBH Cain/BigFoot, is not a fight, that fills me with joy. I don't see anything BigFoot brings to the table, apart from a gigantic head. Let's not kid ourselves, Big Foot didn't beat Overoid, Overoid beat himself, with his cockiness and lack of respect. I see a repeat of the last fight here, Cain throws Big Foot to the floor, and turns his gigantic head to mush.

I agree Pete, I can't see any other out come other than Cain smashing him.

I'm interested in seeing JDS v Overeem but I'm really surprised the UFC have done this fight. With the lack of clear cut contenders at HW and both being very marketable you would have thought Zuffa would have kept them on separate paths and build them back up especially considering both are coming off loses.

Yeah what Pete said. Overeem fought stupidly, total cockyness, I wouldnt back Bigfoot to beat Browne again let alone Cain. As a guy who isnt a fan im still sold on Cain as a fighter. Its still a bad fight for Bigfoot even if he does a little better. Fair play for taking it if he does, he didnt sounds like he was busting to get a rematch even after the Reem win.

Browne vs Gonzaga is great, Gonzaga looked like he had worked on his boxing, that right handed found a home often enough and he hit hard with it. Browne might just be too fast for Gabe to get anything much off standing though, I still dont really rate him as a good striker. If Gonzaga gets him down he can end it there for sure. Winner of this is in a good place.

Gonzaga has only 1 bad loss in terms of who he lost to and that was to Schaub. He would have 4 straight wins which not a lot of others have... Still gotta go with Browne I think Gonzaga will risk standing and regret it. One of these days ill get to see Gonzaga vs Bigfoot!
