So who would you like to see the Lads from Strikeforce take on in their Octagon Debuts?

These are some match ups that I think would make good fights for their debuts.

    HW's

Cormier is going to take on Mir
    Barnett - Shane Carwin,Roy Nelson

    LHW

    Gegard Mousasi - Ryan Bader,Forrest
    Feijão - Thiago Silva

    MW

    Luke Rockhold - Yushin Okami
    Jacaré - Alan Belcher
    Tim Kennedy - Tom Lawor
    Lorenz Larkin - Chris leban
Roger Gracie - Rousimar Palhares,Jake Sheilds

    WW

    Tarec Saffiedine - Martin Kampmann
Nate Marquardt - Rick Story (this is the fight nate was supposed to make his UFC WW debut, before he fucked up)
Jason High - Jay Hieron rematch

WW is already a stupidly deep division,so I doubt Santiago will get a third shot in the UFC and I don't think Misaki will be going over either.

    LW

    Gilbert Melendez - Benson
    Josh Thomson - Evan Dunham
    Pat Healy - Matt Wiman
    Jorge Masvidal - Sam Stout
Ryan Couture - one of the guys from a recent TUF
    KJ Noons - Mac Danzig
    Justin Wilcox - Danny Castillo

Cool matchups mate! Ive a real sense of relief to see Strikeforce finally closed. Great day for the UFC and MMA fans to see all these new matchups that will finally go ahead.

Cormier vs Phil Davis - Both top wrestlers I reckon Phil could handle himself standing well enough, Cormier's Standup especially punch power is over rated IMO and Phil has size, youth and a Sub game on his side. I dont want to see him earn a Lhw title shot by beating a Hw taylor made for him in Mir.

Barnett - I dont think will come to the UFC after all that no masters shite I wonder if he would be happy taking squash matches in Japan while Pro Wrestling. Personally I think JDS is right, Barnett is top 10 and JDS needs someone he hasnt beat down. Nelson is an absolute B level fighter who hasnt ever indicated has has anything to offer the top guys, I think he has been given enough top fighers for now.

Mousasi vs Shogun - He asked for it and wants to remain at 205 id love to see it.

Feijao vs Jimmo/Te Huna winner - I think this will be Jimmo and id love to see them exchange

Rockhold vs Weidman number 1 conteners fight, this fight would produce the legit challenger ahead of the pack that would entice Anderson to be fussed about defending that belt!

Jacare vs Lombard/Okami winner he should go right into a number 1 contenders fight IMO and this would be it. Lombard vs Jacare is a fight ive always wanted to see.

    Kennedy vs Belcher

    Larkin vs Carmont

Gracie vs Brunson - lets see Brunson try and dryhump a gracie.

Saffiedine vs Maia - One of Nates big wins lets see if he can better him again

Marquardt vs Story is a great Idea, Id like to see him fight Alves as well though I dont know If UFC will welcome him back in taking a loss.

Gil vs Benson is suppose to be happening

Healy vs Lauzon would be good

Thompson vs Dos Anjos id like to see

Masvidal vs Stout is a superb call id really enjoy that fight.

Noons vs Nate Diaz? Maby too high profile off a loss but seeing as its boxer vs boxer and he had a rivalry with his Brother id say Nate would be keen to take it and maby Uncle Dana would feel he wants to give an exciting fighter a chance after Judges totally screwed him.

Ryan Couture vs Melvin Guilard is he isnt cut, if would do Couture a favor to get another big win legit under his belt and I see Melvin putting him to sleep anyway.

*Misaki retired after the Daley fight.

There are alot of good match ups to look forward too now.

it's just crazy to think just how big and deep the UFC Rosta is going to be,once more of these fighters officially come over.

I'm expecting alot of cuts and fighters changing divisions this year.

Just look at how many fighters there already is in the LW and WW divisions, there can't possibly be enough cards in a year to keep everyone active.

Barnett made me cringe at the end of his fight, what a dick, the guy is just a complete bell end and is far better suited to Japanese pro wrestling.
Don't get me wrong,I'd love to see him fighting in the UFC,mainly because he is a top HW and I want to see the best tested against the best, but also because I'd love to see him get his arse handed to him and have him fucked off back to japan with his tail between his legs first.

And If Roy Nelson could somehow do that,I'd literally piss myself laughing.

Mousassi v Shogun would be a fun fight, but I think Mousassi is going to struggle to stay at LHW in the UFC IMO,I can't get the images of Mo and Jardine finding it so easy to take him down when they wanted, and neither of them are considered big LHW's.

I don't think Rockhold should be put straight into a #1 contenders match, even though he is the Strikeforce champ.
I personally think he needs to do more proving than beating Jardine and Kennedy in his last two fights to deserve that fight.
I think Okami/Lombard would be a good first fight, but also guys like Stann,Philipou,Munoz or Boetsch would work for me.

After watching Belcher handled himself so well on the ground with Palhares and knowing he has good stand up,I think him vs Jacare would be a perfect match up.

Healy has actually called out Lauzon!

"I named Joe Lauzon earlier because I think he's a great opponent and he wins a lot of ‘Fight of the Night's' and I could use that nice little cushion money, you know, would just love to mix it up with a dude of his caliber."

A lot of 205ers are "undersized" Mousasi would be another one like Evans, Shogun, Machida, Hendo... but I think 185 is his weight class, he talked about being stronger there in his post fight interview. I think he has been working his wrestling flat out but Kyle wasnt going to test his TDD, Maby put him in with Bader to see how it is against a big 205er?

Mousasi is after Gus, Shogun or Machida.

No mention of Evans then! Laughing

I think put him in with a Bader maby Davis, he needs to show us he can cope with a massive powerfull wrestler so id either like to see him beat one of these guys or get sent down to 185 after he cant cope with the takedowns.

When is Weidman ready to fight again, Im thinking him vs Rockhold for the shot if Bisping looses to Belfort...

I hope Jacare more straight into top flight competition was thinking if Munoz earned Weidman has way to the top it would be a good test for Jacare.

Barnett's Bio added to UFC.com (So is Billy evangelista)

So since Mir is tied up who is up next for him? He might have had the Manflu but he didnt take any damage last fight, you'd think he would be good to go quickly.

We already have most of the top guys matched up

    Nog vs Werdum
    Mir vs Cormier
    Overeem vs Bigfoot
    Hunt vs Struve

    Junior vs Barnett?

Carwin should still fight Nelson IMO.
